good nutritional jump-start.
Cathy does a good job of spelling out, fairly comprehensively, the logic and science behind our bodies nutritional needs. But she also provides ample evidence regarding the negative affects of poor choices. This book would be an ideal introduction to better nutrition for the beginner or novice.

Poor Grammar
I read the intro and just in the firs couple pages there were several grammar issues. Its very hard to make sense of what you are reading when you are stuck on grammar issues. Someone should have proof read this book before publishing it. I sent the book back

Wow, I really love the way the book is written, really direct, motivational spirit! It feels as if the author was talking to you.This read covers the holistic approach when it comes to changing your relationship with food-Cathy goes into different factors like emotional, mental, physical and cultural (as well as economical) that may influence your food choices.Great nutritional recommendations, plenty of fresh fruit, veggies, water, lean protein and good carbs (an extra bonus star for this, too many people fear carbs, but there are also good carbs and I am glad to see that this author recognizes the importance of incorporating them into your diet) + many others alongside with the missing ingredient- internal motivation.I am healthy, but after reading this book I know I can do even better.Integral bread with peanut butter and an apple- yummy- these are my fave snacks before hitting the gym!Big kudos to this author, I recommend you grab the book.

Improve your Quality of Life with - It Starts With Food
After losing 30 + pounds in my 20s and keeping it off for decades, I didn't expect to be helped or informed by another food book. But..... this book is well researched, excellently organized and a helpful read for the person that needs a guide to healthy eating. The simple sections lay out not only what to eat, but why. It's helpful to see the list of preferred foods. There's no doubt that healthy eating improves quality of life, and It Starts With Food teaches how to implement a life building food and lifestyle plan.

Only book I've ever thrown away. This is full of typos, slang and incomprehensible thought. The little science included is not properly referenced.. There is another book by this title that is actually very good. Don't make the same mistake - check your author before buying.

Eye-opener to me
The title (It Starts With Food - Simple Changes, Incredible results) of this new book by Cathy Wilson says it all. This is an extremely well-written book and is thus very easy to read. The facts in the book about the foods we eat were an eye-opener for me. I am now reading this book for the second time and now regard it as my guide to the best foods for my health that I should eat. Recommended. Jake

Much more than an introduction to healthy eating
This excellent book is much more than an introduction to healthy eating. Cathy Wilson gives the most important information we need to choose and eat healthy food without necessarily spending excessive amounts on our food. But she goes much further and goes into basic lifestyle changes which will ensure that we can become and stay healthy.This is a book I recommend to anyone who wants to improve their health and happiness.

Good Read - Highly Recommended
I really enjoyed this book. It was written in a way that was not too technical, but did include some useful references to support the author's view.I've been really interested in nutrition for a long time, even becoming a nutrition coach to help people improve their lives. I concur with much of this book, and recommend it for anyone trying to become more educated on the effects food has on the body, both phyiscal and psychological.Not too long a read, just right actually. I came to the end feeling that I had learned something, I am sure you will too.

You are what you eat.
The best thing about cathy's books is that its not just about food all the time. She also motivates you to get on the write track. She is the real deal. I have read several books by her and I like all of them. You are what you eat and there is no doubt about it. In this book Cathy puts it down for you. I can recommend it to anyone who is looking to alter the way they eat.
