Lonely Planet Epic Hikes of the World: Explore the Planet's Most Thrilling Treks and Trails

Lovely book to flick through. Bought this as a present for a friend who loves to go on long walks and hikes etc both locally and on holidays in Scotland and abroad. Its got some great content but also beautiful photographs and illustrations. Its more "inspirational" than "practical", there's not enough information to actually use it to plan a trip per se, but its great for inspiring you to travel and giving you ideas of new destinations to explore. Its also printed/bound to a really nice standard on good quality paper, which makes a big difference, it feels lovely and premium. Wonderful.

I got this as a bday present for my bf who loves to go on long walks. He's always looking for somewhere nice to explore when we're on holiday, so I thought this would be great for inspiration and giving us both ideas of where to travel next. He really seems to like it and have seen him and other people we've had round opening it a few times to read about some of the hikes, so think this is a real winner.

Pretty pictures, great content. It’s nice to have a mooch through it, particularly when planning bucket list trips.

Good book

I really like this series of Lonely Planet Epic books. I understand that it is a bit of a re-hash of previously published trails etc (perhaps better described as a 'bringing together' rather than a re-hash) but it has great photography, is well laid out with a detailed description for one route and then adds alternatives, and enough information for each route to inspire you to want to go (or indeed actually go out and buy flights to go and do one of the routes, as I have recently done). Walking and trekking is one of the great pleasures in life and a book like this simply says 'go and explore, you know you want to and you won't regret it!'

We bought this as a gift for my brother and sister in law who love hiking. It has details and photos of so many wonderful hikes around the world, giving them many ideas for future travels. Fantastically presented, beautiful book.

Such a lovely book, i bought this for a Christmas present for a friend that is very much into walking/hiking and she loved it! It’s really great to see all the different places and it has inspired her to see more of the world which she didn’t know was there! 100% recommend
