Q: Is this the retail version of the game that comes with wooden water droplets? are the known ks quality issue fixed? thanks.

I have the retail version that I paid $90. Comments will reflect the expected quality for the price point. Certain pieces have great quality and others are lacking. The player boards are awesome, the wooden water is an improvement and easy to grasp. The tech tiles feel good. The wooden engineers are nice. That said the main board is super thin, as are the supporting boards. The player wheels are flimsy and have no button so they come apart easily. The cement mixers and excavators are tiny tiny tiny. There are also not really enough for a 4 player game. There is no insert for a $90, I expect an insert.

Q: is this a "legacy" style game? one reviewer compared it to Scythe: Rise of Fenris rather than base game Scythe which made me wonder

This is not a legacy style game. Meaning it does not evolve or change between one match and the next one.

There's a lot of lingering anger (and there should be) about the broken components that shipped with the kickstarter version. Most of the problems were with the construction wheel, which has been revised entirely for the retail version. I have not seen a pattern of problems with the retail copies; if there were, that would be something you address with Cranio themselves.

I don't have any issue with the components on this release. I think the big problem with the KS version was the plastic water droplets were rounded/beveled and hard to pick up. Those are wooden in this version and not an issue. Otherwise the cardboard stock is pretty good.
