Worked as advertized.
Just got home a few days ago from a Princess British Isles Cruise. It worked in all the UK countries perfectly. Would buy again if trip is ever repeated.

It worked all over the UK for my son!
My son just got home from a 2 week trip to Europe. He used this particular SIM for the first leg of his trip, which was in the UK. We did activate it before he went - and honestly that was super easy. You just need to confirm the dates of use and a few more details, and that's it. He put it in when he arrived, and it gave him zero issues. He was using a global GSM phone, by the way, so I can't speak to specific phone types or country specific GSM bands, etc.He had no issue using it for data voice calls (like WhatsApp, Telegram), and seems to stay connected everywhere he went. Speed was acceptable, and as I already said, easy to setup. This card did come with a phone number - but I don't think he used that feature at all - just the data aspect of the card. He's not a gamer, heavy video watcher, etc. So, I can't really comment on the real speeds and such, but for him he was able to take photos and videos and have them upload to Google Photos without delay or issue, use web-apps of all sorts, and multiple messaging and call applications. All of them seemed to work. The way you receive this is a bit tricky - not labeled super well - but easy enough to activate and get started with. Just use the QR code on the the little page of instructions and you'll be off and running.I was honestly surprised at how easy this was for him to use - he's not much of a techie at all. I highly recommend for your short trips to the UK - a great value for the money and something you can check off your list before you go!

Great for WiFi in a portable WiFi router but you can't check balances
I suspect many US travelers buy this SIM for use in a portable wireless router ("MIFi") in the UK. When purchased through the mail from Amazon it appears that the TravSim website does not set you up with an account, although you can activate the SIM ahead of time via the TravSim website using the full SIM code on the package. You may see "To check your TravelSIM balance, you can either dial 146099# on your phone or log into your account on the TravelSIM website. Alternatively, you can use the USSD code 146941*PACKAGE_NUMBER# to check the package status and remaining usage volume." But this works only if the SIM is in a cell phone, not in portable WiFi router. Thus you're left high-and-dry about knowing what your balance is.It's a tad frustrating to have a local UK phone number assigned to the SIM but inaccessible since it's in your router. It would be helpful if TravSim gave some documentation specifically for portable WiFi router users--suggestions on how to use voice over IP or other means of somehow determining how much data is left on the SIM package.Nonetheless, this SIM works fine for its purpose if the no-phone-use limitations are not a problem.

"3" SIM worked well in Lonon and the US
Setting up the "3" SIM didn't involve registration or jumping through any hoops, but this could because the phone had been used with a temporary "3" SIM before. Data connection was good in central London (Knightsbridge and South Ken). Surprisingly the data also works back in the US where it switches between an AT&T connection at JFK and T-Mobil in my home state. The connections in the US are maybe a little slower/lower priority.

A Godsend for Travellers to the UK
I am relatively new to the world of eSIMs, and did a lot of research prior to ordering this. I was pleased to find that an eSIM allows the user to keep his or her phone number. I travel to the UK at least once a year. Usually I inform T-Mobile beforehand, and add a plan to keep phone calls and data usage at their cheapest rates while I am there. With this eSIM, I will not have to.This product is a pamphlet with a QR code, in an envelope. I first checked to make sure that my Samsung Galaxy S23 even accepts eSIMs. It does. The instructions are to: 1) Access the SIM Card Manager by opening the Settings app, navigating to Connections, and selecting the SIM card manager; 2) 2. Add a Mobile Plan (eSIM) by tapping on 'Add mobile plan.' Options to add an eSIM will then be presented. 3) Select 'Add using QR code' and then scan the code with the phone's camera. 4) Add the provided activation code (it is included on the pamphlet).Given that once activated, the number of days begins to run, I would not activate this until the day before the trip. I will report when I learn any new information. My next trip to the UK is in the next few months, but I wanted to leave a review now, to relay my findings. I will update if anything changes.

Effortless Connectivity Across the UK – Unlimited Data with Zero Hassle
The travSIM UK eSIM is a game-changer for travelers needing unlimited data without the trouble of switching physical SIM cards. I activated it instantly by scanning the QR code before landing, and it worked immediately upon arrival in London. Coverage was reliable and fast across England, Scotland, and Wales — consistent 4G/5G speeds even in rural areas.Streaming, navigation, social media, and video calls all ran smoothly with no throttling noticeable throughout the 30-day use. It’s a data-only eSIM, so for calls/texts I used apps like WhatsApp and Signal without any issues. If you’re traveling for work, school, or tourism in the UK and want a worry-free, truly unlimited data experience, this eSIM is an excellent choice. No roaming charges, no SIM swapping — just solid, uninterrupted connectivity.

Have WhatsApp Before Travel
Very difficult to set up, had to wait until in country and only can reach support via Whatsapp - which user did not have and needed to install on order to complete setup in country. If I had not been able to setup my WhatsApp, I would have not been able to use SIM at all!Instructions sent with eSIM are limited, do not give you everything you need to know for setup.Once it was set up, data was available and very helpful to have during travel. Good value for the money and decent speeds. If you do not have good tech understanding you will be better off working with your cell carrier or getting a card in country from a store front that can assist setup.
