A delicacy
This is a delicacy. It is wonderful on Warmed pound cake or straight out of the jar.

Good, worth the money
It is a big pudding in an earthenware container. It was quite good, although not as strong a flavor as the puddings of my childhood. I made hard sauce but could eat it without.

Delicious traditional pudding
Delicious, traditional Christmas pudding. Our family loved it. Taste, texture and look were all correct. It was package suitably for the holidays - good enough to use as a gift. Very impressed.

Christmas pudding
My husband is British and lives here in the USA now. He misses his Christmas pudding. So I try to get him one every year. He said the taste was excellent very good! It was of good quality and sealed up good. Taste and texture were perfect. His only complaint was that it was very small, we expected a larger size.

OK but not even close to worth this price.
I give this stuff 1 star because even though it is good, it is WAY over-priced. It was just barely "reasonably" priced back in October 2014 when I bought two jars priced at $9.13 each. When you add $7.85 shipping & handling they charged onto the total you have some thing that is totally out of line. When I was growing up we used to use the Cross & Blackwell brand hard sauce that one use to be able to buy off the shelf in the local grocery store. It doesn't seem to be available any more which is why I settled for this stuff. But never again. After using this stuff I went on line and found a recipe that takes about 10 minutes max to make. Here it is: Ingredients: 1/2 cup soft butter 1 1/2 cups sifted confectioner sugar ( i never sift it) 2 table spoons rum or brandy (I use brandy) 1/4 tsp almond extract (Optional, but I use it) Preparation: 1. Cream the butter with the confectioners sugar until light and fluffy. I just do this with a fork - mashing and stirring the butter and sugar in the mixing bowl. I guess with soft enough butter you could use a blender. Nevertheless withing 5 minutes or so I get what I want: it never gets to what I would call light and fluffy but it gets smooth and creamy. 2. Stir in the rum/brandy- do this one teaspoon at a time to keep it from separating. I guess it can separate if you add it all at once. I didn't experience this. However if you do it has been suggested that you just add more sugar. 3. Stir-in the almond extract. 4. Refrigerate. Mmmm-mmm good. Just as good if not better than this TipTree stuff selling for $2.67 cents an ounce. Cheers!

This is a WIN! Awesome. I'm very very picky - and I am going crazy over this! Great on cakes, cookies, brownies, fruit cake, pannetone, French toast, pancakes..... Holy crow! I'm impressed 👍🏻❤️

Overrated
I bought the 2 pound one in a blue box, full disclaimer I’m not English, bought this for Christmas for novelty and because in-laws used to live there/husband studied there. It came in a gorgeous ceramic bowl with a cloth cover, it was really lovely. Steamed in my pressure cooker. Lit the brandy, poured it, very falalala. However after 2 hours of steaming and good brandy lit and poured, I was surprised to find that it is basically a soft raisin bread. I’m not sure what the big deal is, but we had a French buche de Noel and an English pudding and there were no takers for the “pudding.” Brandy butter is a must the same way butter is a must on raisin bread. Otherwise it’s inedible. Just a pot of raisins bound with some flour. Do not buy if you don’t love raisins! I paired it with vanilla ice cream to help make sense of it. But the ratio of raisins to cake is off; each bite is just a spoon of brandy and raisins. overall unless you have strong childhood memories of this stuff, skip it. It has no culinary value, only nostalgic value. People like it because it’s their heritage and that’s fine. But don’t take this to a potluck and expect rave reviews.

Amazon isn’t the place I would have expected to get a great Christmas pudding, but I needed it in March. Now I’ve tried it it’ll be for Christmas too, regardless of other stockist. Flavours great and the fruit is not gritty at all (as it can be with cheap versions). Gate off!!

Once again, this product did not disappoint. This is the second successive year we have ordered the product and once again it was a tasty but light pudding, well packed with fruit. No cooking instructions could be found, which was OK for myself, an experienced cook, but my son's fiancee, cooking Christmas lunch totally unaided for the first time, might have struggled re timing had I not been around to advise. We steamed the pudding very gently, it possibly could have been microwaved but we attributed the delightfully moist texture to the method of cooking. Will definitely buy again.
