Don’t waste your money. This bag is NOT waterproof and it is flimsy material. The seller will refund only a portion of the purchase price. All of my items in the cargo bag were ruined.

This cargo carrier is made from heavy duty pvc fabric, tough fabric that zips easily closed. Despite how it is shown, though, there is no internal structure for the sturdy shape shown. The bag measures 56"x45"x20", with 3 attached straps that get clipped to the car once you pull back the car seal. A nice non-slip mat is included to cover the car's roof prior to placing the storage bag on. Used during a storm, everything remained dry. The bag holds a lot of items, perfect for storm evacuation needs.

Generally for two adults and two kids, a trunk would be enough for storage or the back of an Outback. But when you include things like your dog, gifts, etc., you quickly find that you need to start expanding your storage somehow. We have a hitch on our car, but this is very convenient to be able to just put up on the roof whenever we need it and carry our luggage to wherever we are going. The material itself is very thick and I have no doubt that it will protect from the rain. Thankfully, we haven't had much of an opportunity to test that out. The zippers are pretty high quality. I like that I'm able to take it off when I'm done and fold it up into a relatively small size and store it. The only downfall of a container like this is that it does look a little sloppy if it's not completely full on top of your car. So as long as you fold it up well in the empty spaces and you kind of box everything together, this is a great upgrade for a relatively small price to be able to carry a bunch of junk around that you might not have been able to previously.
