Much smaller than expected, than dies in full sun
I mistakenly ordered 2 of these and both were same size again much smaller than expected. Hopefully will survive since it wasn't cheap. One is planted in west sun, good soil and peat moss since our soil is more alkaline, peat moss adds acid. The one in west sun died!!! I watered it every day as you should when first planted in heat and it didn't make it...past the return date:(

A Poor Investment
My comments for this plant are identical to the comments made for the Cork Bark Japanese White Pine. A total disappointment.

Cultivar as described, Tree in good condition
The packaging was good; came in a two inches pot, but deep for roots. Original pot not shown in the photo. Stake provided for support. Tree is of a good size, and cultivar exhibits desired characteristics, especially the ringed needles. Red bark can't be expected to happen until maturity. Tree seems to be in very good health with new growth. This company gets terrible reviews online, but I am pleased with what I got. Granted, I haven't had to contact the company for any reason.

Healthy tree but, they should let people know it's grafted.
Package very well, came in fast, I would've gave it five stars but, they don't tell people that it's a graft. Other than that it's a healthy tree.

item I ordered was put together and was not as old as they said, died.
lied, item was to to small just put together really bad, died, would not take back. would not buy from them again. said item was 3-5 yrs olld, not true. I took item to a nursery to varify age and they said tree was slapped together for a sale, not old or mature.

Small and slow growth. Did not last outside
The graft was not strong it seemed but I had hope. I am in zone 7 and it lasted 1.5 years outside with protection on one side and regular watering. Very small upon arrival but alive, slow growth.

Small tree as expected.
Small tree as expected. Looks healthy. Will place in a large pot for a year or two as planned then transfer to inground. No issues so far. Thank you.
