Excellent equipment for home or business use
We use these to provide WiFi for several clients, residential and in businesses and these things are excellent.I had no issues setting them up, but I am in IT. That being said, even a do-it-yourselfer can handle installing and setting these up with a little google searching. They do require you to install a software controller that you will use to configure your network, and then once they are found by the controller they are adapted into your network and configured to work together. You can create WiFi access throughout your entire home or business with these by adding them as needed to areas where the signal is weak. They work together to create a "mesh-like" network where you can move around and your devices move between them as needed. My phone switches between these things so fast that I have 0 interruption as I move.I have the small 8 port unifi POE switch running 2 in our house, with a third one to be added when I get around to it.The forth one is in my shop, where I am using a set of Ubiquity nanostations to bridge Internet out to my shop from the house.I am also running the small unifi usg (router/firewall).The cool thing about the software controller is that it controls all of your unifi products. You configure your network in 1 place and it gets pushed out to the devices that need the configuration; and you can monitor all of those devices through the controller - it really is an excellent system.

Better WiFi
During initial tests, I set up the security gateway, PoE switch, and 1 of these access points, and connected them to an already existing wireless router. Even with the additional bottlenecks of going through the new hardware and through the original, network performance was significantly better. Now installed strategically in my new house, I have wall-to-wall coverage, and I'm able to move my devices through the house without losing connectivity. My only "gripe" (aka it would be nice to have) would be for the mounting plates to work with electrical boxes. I've seen some creative hacks on forums on how others have gotten around this, but it would be nice to have native support.

Pain to setup but the best for wireless
The setup process is a pain in the butt if you didn't have some networking knowledge. You will need a controller to configure these. Once you set them up though, wireless issues are no longer
