There is no standard size for army men, they are made in all different sizes. There are some common scales, but even those can vary be open to interpretation. Your best bet is to hold your figures next to a US quarter, then compare to the scale photo we include with all of our figures.

Are the soldier’s helmets as high on their heads as the pictures? They look weird.

Yes, the original maker of these, BMC screwed these up years ago by placing the helmets of both the American and German soldiers helmets way too high up on their heads. Puzzling how nobody noticed this before producing the molds. A real shame because otherwise they are decent. Their Marine sculpt's helmets on the other hand are far more accurate.

are they worth the money ?

Yeah, they're definitely worth the money. The soldiers are decently detailed, but pale in comparision to the more high end soldiers. The "plastic" is a bit brittle, so you have to be careful about stepping on the soldiers, lest you break off a weapon, arm or leg in the process. My seven year old loves them and I guess that's the real litmus test of whether they're worth the money.

Where is this set made?

This product is made in China at the same factory that has been manufacturing the BMC Toys line for over 20 years.
