Programming a little different than what I used before. However, this unit is so much better than what I was using. I have all my apps that I like and can use them with no issues. A very good stream player. The reviews on this unit is dead on. Very ease to use, compatibility with all my apps, great value, no lag in video, and durability.

Great and fairly easy to set up. Need a google account. Buy this one worth every dime.

For the money, better than the Nvidia Shield Pro. Missing are toggles for AI upscaling and shutoff or sleep timers. Also this will marry you to Google even more. It integrates flawlessly with your Google home cameras, speakers, and thermostat. It is convenient to see who's at the front door from my TV.

Worked great for 4 months but now getting distortion on TV screen(changing colors and pixelation. Would love to send back and get a replacement as it was great while it worked. I do not have original package though. HELP PLEASE!

It was great until it was not. I like that it has a massive memory. I can load free, whimsical channels at will. It is better than the Amazon Firestick, that's a definite. Immediately it had the ability to show the TV Guides... Until it didn't. With 32GB of memory, I'm barely scratching the surface at 6GB including the OS. But that disappeared. I didn't notice it for awhile, but yeah, the menus are gone. Immediately I noticed a delay in the audio. Someone is talking, and a split second later you hear the words. This is with both the optical line, and even after switching over to every possible combination of the DVD cables. Now the thing shuts down after 2 hours, on it's own. I've had it about 2 months, I'm contacting support. The last thing I want to do is a full-on reset of this, it took days to set-up... You have to remember and re-install all the codes for Netfix, Amazon, Google, SiriusXM, YouTube, and on and on. So this is the summary: Voice delays. Resets abruptly (goes into a screensaver, really annoying), lost the conveniece of seeing what the TV Guides said (always says "Loading" just like the Amazon FireStick.

Excellent unit for streaming, and adding side app's.. No buffering, but, discounted/used units may require reset, and,or, adjustments, in order clear out any previous info from prior owners. Once done, unit will work fine. Otherwise, pay full price, to avoid any reprogramming. Best deal for movie lovers, Etc..

Just got mine and got it set up with a few apps. No issues downloading or installing apps. Plays everything well so far. Took a minute to figure out how to get the remote to control my older samsung tv. I knocked 2 stars off for the obnoxiously bright led on the GX1 - there's no way to dim it or turn it off!!!! WTF??? This seems like a major oversight by RockTek. Black tape will be my solution until the mfg updates the software/firmware. March 6, 2026 UPDATE - Downgraded to one star. I've been getting some pixelation on YT TV, but not on other popular apps. Also the output volume has dropped WAAAYYY down ( I have to turn the volume on the TV up to double what it used to be for the same loudness). The out put volume kept dropping lower and the pixelation issue prompted me to buy an ONN 4K Pro streamer. Got it set up and the volume settings went back to what it should have been and the pixleation issue is gone. Conclusion is the RockTek GX1 was slowly crapping out. I do not recoommend this item!

Kodi + jellyfin plug-in plays everything. The remote has some weird behavior in kodi, which is easily fixed by remapping the buttons. Not hard to do. I took the android 14 update as I set it up initially.
