Q: How do I open it? Do I puncture the rice paper beneath the turn top, or does the turn top come off to allow me to remove the rice paper?

I struggled with this and even returned a bottle because I thought it was defective. On the second bottle I had the same issue so I resolved to just stick a pin through the holes to puncture what I assumed was "rice paper". It wasn't, there was a clear plastic film on top that I previously could not see at all. I looked really hard and never saw it! Anyways remove that film and twist the cap and it comes out. No you do not have to pop the lid off. What I thought was rice paper below was just the powder sticking to the film. Hope this helps!

Sounds like too much water. Just a drop or so goes a very long way. I usually cleanse my face with my wash and while the wash/cleanser is still on and my face is wet THEN apply some scrub (no water needed until time to rinse off). We carry this line at a spa that I work at, and the "aesties" swear by it. If you're adding water to use the scrub itself just a few drops will do. And yes it becomes a paste like texture. It's a gentle scrub. A more course is the pear and poppy seed.

I use it everyday as part of my morning cleansing routine. I usually make a paste and leave it on as long as I have time for. It will leave your skin feeling super clean and smooth.
