Absolutely Beautiful
I actually went to art school in Chicago with Alex Ross. We shared a couple of classes together. I remember a very fun Batman party my girlfriend and I went to (we came as 'Sound Effects') and Alex showed up as the Joker. He was with us too when a group of us went to the premier of Tim Burton's Batman movie.Even then his artwork was already better than everyone else. I was always an excellent draftsman but Alex was simply on another level. What impresses me most however is that for as good as he was then his artwork has grown so superbly over the years. And yet, his 'style' remains demonstrably 'Alex'.I took a step away from art and comics for a couple decades and when I came back, I saw the cover for Absolute Kingdom Come. I wasn't absolutely sure it was him at first. The art was familiar but somehow 'more' if that makes any sense. Still, my first impression was that it looked an awful lot like something he would do. I remember in school how much I loved the way he rendered chrome effects. He loved doing paintings of European Knights. Thinking on it now maybe it was his way of perfecting the effect and not so much a love of knights. I mean, all the shiny bits of the armor is a great practice field. Anyway, I saw that same signature style in Kingdom Come. So when I found his name on the credits, I wasn't totally surprised.I'm not sure if this is technically a review of the book but I wanted to express an appreciation of Alex's work from a different angle. As a former artist and from someone who knew his work back then, I hope this little tidbit adds to your appreciation of his art.

Fantastic story and awesome art. A must have for comic book collectors.
Awesome story and an awesome book. I remember growing up reading all of these, and the story just captivated me as well as the art. Awesome price for an awesome book, I bought three because I'm a collector and I feel that they will be a value in the future. For anyone looking for an intriguing story that will hold you and keep you interested, I definitely recommend this book. It gives you a glimpse into the future, and shows you the new Heroes as well as the new villains. Awesome storytelling and art, Mark Wade and Alex Ross did an awesome job. Five stars is what I give this book.

Storyline
The storyline in this was awesome I kept reading it every chance I got since I had it delivered. I always heard about the kingdom come comic and saw the reviews for it on YouTube but I wanted to know for myself and it lived up to every expectation to the lore of the dc universe and its characters development the realism in this was breath taking. It gave me a chance to see the greatest heroes have sides we never seen before and how the world is changing around them. Thank you to the publishers and to Mark waid and Alex Ross for creating such a blockbuster storytelling. It was definitely worth waiting for.

Same just bigger.
I upgraded from my TPB and man do I love looking at Alex Ross's art on a bigger format. This is my first Absolute Edition and it's smaller than I thought it would be. Like it's a little bigger than an OHC but not too big. It's a great size. Definitely buy it, you won't regret it.

The best version of one of the best stories
Kingdom Come is probably one of the greatest stories in the medium and the absolute version is the best version of this book. Honestly, just Alex Ross' art alone is worth the price not to seem like the story isn't great, it's Mark Waid at his absolute best.
