this book gave me hope followed closely by relief from physical symptoms
i absolutely loved this book and also Terri. i have grade 2 spondylolisthesis of L4-5 resulting in severe stenosis. the neuropathy and numbness and stiffness and out of balance-ness and not being sure where my feet were, etc. had me in fear most of the day, esp. in the morning. i know at almost 72 years, mornings are the roughest. i used to have to hang onto the walls and oh so slowly take those steps. Terri's book has great simply explained anatomical rationales for all her guidance and advice; position changes, a new way to do activities, strengthening and stretching exercises, the use of ice, what positions to avoid. its all working. i am so much more comfortable and can move around easier even in the morning. for the first time since i was diagnosed (mid sept) i haven't had to take an anti-inflammatory or even tylenol. but the best part was her firm belief that surgery does not have to become the treatment of choice. that yes, one can improve and live comfortably with nonoperative therapy.

For anyone with back pain
I want to thank Terri Night for this wonderful book. I have spondylisthesis, scoliosis and stenosis with multiple spurs. I was close to having major surgery done on my back a year ago but decided against it. This book was recommended by a physician friend and it has been a real gift! I've learned a lot about the dynamics of my condition and the exercises are well-illustrated and explained. I would recommend this book to anyone who has some sort of back pain.

Completely helpful and easy to read
I have spinal stenosis,; those who have it know it is a chronic condition. What can make it manageable an (relatively) pain free is how you care for yourself with diet, exercise, and a careful life style. This is an incredibly easy book to read. Explanations are clear and exercises well thought out. It is for all kinds of readers, from the curious to the afflicted. If you want one book on how to take care of yourself or someone-else, get this book.

She gets it, she really gets it.
Spinal stenosis is not the end of the world, might be if you walk for a living, but for the rest of us there are many successful treatment options. This book will help you better understand what spinal stenosis is and what it can become if untreated or not taken seriously. It also shows you how to avoid most setbacks altogether through moderation and proven physical exercises and stretches. Walking cane for long distances and any steps, along with regular physical therapy trained exercises is pretty much a life saver in my case. Once you can visualize what is happening back there, you can start to move accordingly and go on with a full rich life.

not in-depth enough for a book
When it comes to spinal stenosis, you'll find a lot of conflicting information about the types of exercise/stretching to do, and unfortunately this book doesn't really eliminate any of the confusion.Yes, there was a nice explanation of what stenosis is, but not nearly ENOUGH information for me to want to pay for a whole book on the subject; I could find almost all of this stuff with a simple internet search. I was hoping to get more in-depth information.

Fantastic results! Thank you! A+
This book is a highly instructive guide. What I loved are the easy-to-follow steps for improving diagnosed stenosis. I didn't know that the recommended steps like these could help me so much. I like that I can do this at home and that the exercises really work. After years of issues, relief was realized. Thank you, Terri Night!

So helpful!
As a nurse concerned with the unintended consequences of many pain medications and not able to have surgery, I appreciate the author's many tips on addressing spinal stenosis pain and discomfort and reducing "flares". Highly recommend.

A great book!
Book well worth the money. All that expertise enclosed in book form. Just a couple of the hints and exercises helped to relieve some pain. For some of us back surgery is not an option so this was a Godsend.

Well-written and comprehensive book which is very helpful for people suffering from spinal stenosis
I am in constant pain and found Terri's style refreshing and always promoting the message that there are achievable ways to address the pain and life-limiting problems caused by the condition. She sets things out so clearly in a chatty, humorous way which is encouraging as well as sympathetic. I would love to have her as a friend!

Most helpful book!!
I received this book yesterday and I have to say that it is very to follow. Terry Night explains everything without being at all condescending to those of us who are not medically qualified. She writes in a very straightforward way and makes the book extremely interesting to read - particularly if you have spinal stenosis. Thanks, Terri for giving me hope of dealing with my spinal stenosis without having to resort to surgery.
