I just installed the 4TB WD Black SN8100 and tested it with CrystalDiskMark. The results were insane. I got over 14,000 MB/s read and write speeds. Coming from a Gen3 RAID 0 setup, the difference is night and day.I run a Ryzen 9 9800X3D with an RTX 3080, so the rest of my system was strong already. I just didn’t realize how much my older drives were holding me back. After switching to this Gen5 SSD, load times dropped across the board and games feel much smoother. Microstutters I used to get during intense moments are now completely gone.If you're gaming on modern hardware and still using Gen3 drives, you're probably not getting the performance you think you are. This SSD is fast, stable, and absolutely worth the upgrade. I posted my benchmark screenshot so others can see the numbers for themselves. Very happy with the purchase.

I bought the 2TB version of the SN8100. Fully installed Windows 11 through USB Type C in what felt like a minute or two. Downloading Windows Updates, installing all my programs, drivers, all simultaneously with no noticeable slowdown. I previously had an Intel Gen 3 NVME, the difference is impressive in system responsiveness and just how smooth everything loads and feels. Highly recommended for those seeking the ultimate upgrade that will easily last five years+

This drive is amazing. Fast storage and functionality. The installation into my M2 docking station was easy and recognized almost instantaneously. Great purchase.

Holy *(#%* This is quick!.. My Benchmarks (Dont have the screen shot) are around 13917 mbs read and 14200 Write. After a few test i was average around 12000-13500 mbs on average. LOADS FAST TOO!I see on June 9th the 4TB version will be release i plan on getting that one next.. As i do tend to fill up 4 TB pretty regularly due to sample libraries in my studio.The speed of the drive is fantastic, heat is not an issue with out the heat sink. The drive performs exceptionally well with low heat (being under 48c pretty much all the time and idling around 31c).Samples load into Konkat, Soundpaint and Native Instruments equipment and into the DAWs at fast speeds as compared to a traditional SSD moving at 2000mbs.Definitely worth the purchase and does work with a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Ultra nine without any issues in the PCIe Gen5 or Gen 4 slot.

You buy the WD 8100 if you want the fastest possible performance from consumer grade flash storage. This drive can a behemoth like n the solid state drive market. Really it’s awesome. But you should only buy it IF YOU HAVE A NVME SLOT WITH PCIE 5.0x4 support. Check your motherboard manual. This is not a drive you buy for a ssd enclosure or an older machine, you will not be able to take advantage of the faster speeds.The silicon motion controller is faster, smoother, and less prone to slow downs than a phison and the DRAM cage makes most file work a breeze. I am a western digital/sandisk client through and through, between the brands you’ll find everything you need for storage.

Fast .... I have a good heatsink on it and it runs outstanding.... I installed a game on it. It's faster than anything I ever seen 👍😎😊

I mean it's a Sandisk SSD. Prime day deal so it was a no brainer. Lab results show this SSD to be the fastest (generally) so just went with it. I'd never tell the difference between this and a Samsung competitor. Sandisk Dashboard is not nearly as polished as Samsung Magician but it has all the data you need and ability to update firmware.
