There are several different types of brushes/combs in a drawer that have done very little in grooming my cats over the years. One cat lives with me now, she’s a medium length tuxie who sheds a lot. When watching Girl With The Dogs grooming video, she was using one of these on a dog and the amount of undercoat she had removed really caught my attention. I found this same brand and decided to purchase the small one.My cat enjoys being groomed, except for her belly, so I knew that she’d like this, but I was wrong. She loves it! It works best using short strokes just like a cat would in cleaning herself. The amount of fluff that comes off is fantastic, and I know my cat sheds less now. Since she’s ingesting less loose fur during her own grooming, there have been no more hairballs being coughed up. I never realized how much of an undercoat she actually has.This groomer fits well in my hand, the grip is made of a smooth wood and it comes in many different colors, I chose purple. It’s very sturdy and it should hold up for a very long time. The only downside-side is that I have to use my hand or a different brush to actually remove the deshedded fur off my cat’s body because this doesn’t. It piles up in a very short amount of time and the fluff just lays there til taken off. This is a product that’s been used a lot, I highly recommend it.

This is an amazing product! Whoever designed this is a genius! It’s essentially a wooden handle with a section of fine tooth bandsaw blade on one side. I just got it yesterday and have used it on all of my 3 boy cats. They do not like brushes but they love this. They flipped back and forth and turned to give me their tummies to clean.I was hesitant to order because of the price but since it’s time for the Big Spring Shed I gave in and I’m glad.Warning - it’s not a neat process. It removes the loose hair but it does not hold it on the teeth for you to collect it neatly. You will have it on you and anything nearby. I think it would work well outside on a breezy day so the fluff wads would blow away.Anyway the cats look better and are happy.

The EquiGroomer does a fantastic job, both at getting hair out and making the brushee pass out from feeling so good. Soot loves brush sessions and goes into kitty-coma almost every time.I wish I'd though to take a picture of the hair that came off this cat during the first month we had this brush, but I didn't. :-/ We had to have collected enough hair to make an entirely new cat… twice over. It was insane.She's not even done, and it's been over two months! As you can tell from the pictures, the brush is still pulling shed out like crazy, though this hair amount is at least almost manageable.I actually only came back to this listing today to buy another, which reminded me that I should leave a review. Hope it helps!To add some humor, the first thing I thought when this brush arrived was that "uhh this is a hacksaw blade". When my husband got home and saw it, he recognized the blade style as one that he literally uses in his saws. Now he jokes that it's a torture device and that I'm cutting Soot in half. :p[update 2025-04-22we're still loving the brush, it's still pulling gobs of shed out, soot's still going comatose, and i uploaded another picture.]

This brush doesn't pull any excess hair off of your pet. It is designed to only pull off dead hairs. The teeth of the brush make no contact with the skin of your pet, which is why I like it. I use it in combination with a wisker brush on my cats and I use this solely on my dog. I own all long hair cats, one of them likes it the other two do not. The one that likes it really does and the two that do hate it, but theres no brush this nononvasive that prevents mats like this one in my opinion. I have the wooden one; the wood has a grainy rustic feel I like but as for its appearance I do kind of wish it were coated because fur sticks to the handle. I will say the handle is a bit short for my hand, making handling difficult. It works on every single pet to my knowledge making it the most versatile of all my brushes.

Absolutely love this product and HIGHLY Recommend it. It takes out all kinds of hair. It is initially made for horse hair but it will make light work of dogs with short hair and even long hair - though I'm not sure about curly. It is sleek and easy to hold, I got the blue color which fits the pictures. It is made of good quality and was made to last. It works so well I would even recommend it to cat owners.

Our cat was simply delighted! This is absolutely recommended by this cat dad without any hesitation. It’s way more gentle than any wire grooming pet store tool I’ve used before. So. Much. Fur. Came off, first try.Tip: groom with short firm raking strokes everywhere front to back, best used outside on a table, with you standing in front of a slight breeze so you both can watch way more fur than you thought would fly away in a breeze, literally. Fur flies away outside, everywhere. Gone. No resistance from our DSH tabby cat, I think he actually looks forward to it now. Gave him a gentle warm bath afterward with proper cat shampoo, now we have a powder puff cat that looks like he lost a few pounds. He is getting raked regularly by me from now on. Somebody’s happily purring next to me right now… best $20 spent ever…

Amazing product! Fantastic quality for it's perfect size. Very durable and cute look. Easy to use and clean. Great for all hair types. Gets so much shedding and leaves hair soft.

Wow... Seriously. I have 4 cats with varying hair types and lengths and it works amazing on all of them. I was skeptical, but this thing works incredibly well. Its simple and I don't really understand why it works, but its amazing. The cats all love being pampered with this thing.It actually works as a bit of a lint roller on clothes and furniture as well, but unknown if it could hurt the fabric, so use at your own risk as a lint roller substitute.
