Q: From what plant is this vinegar derived? I assume not corn?

Contrary to a couple of the other answers, all vinegar is made from fermenting sugars/starches from a plant. If it is made from alcohol, then that alcohol was made from fermenting sugars/starches from a plant. So "what plant is used?" is valid question. I would like to know that answer too.

Yes they are. The same size you would buy at a store that carries this type of vinegar.

Q: What can you use in place of spirit vinegar in recipes?

This Surig vinegar is 25% distilled white vinegar BUT 5 TIMES STRONGER than vinegar you'd buy in the grocery store isle (5%) so it MUST be diluted 1 part vinegar to 5 parts water to use for cooking! I bought it and only use it for laundry and cleaning for which it works great. I don't even keep it in the kitchen in case someone else might try to use it. BE CAREFUL
