値段が少し安くなっていたので買おうと思ったがキャンセルになった。残念。 肌の色とボディのサイズが良さそうです。もう少し安い値段でこのボディが出てくれると嬉しい。

I got this doll because I needed a petite Barbie doll as a model for my knit designs. I love how posable she is. Also, she is so pretty with her little pixie cut! She makes my knitted designs look pretty good ;)

These Looks 2021 dolls strike me like a cross between the pared-back Barbie Basics collections--featuring the Model Muse rigid bodies--on fully articulated Made-to-Move (MtM) bodies, perfect for the diorama-focused adult collector. BMR 1959 had great MtM bodies, but their style, hair & clothing, was very much fashion runway. This Barbie Signature Looks 2021 series looks more like stylish adults who hang out together. Like other Barbie Signature dolls, they come with doll stands and certificates. Being Black Label, they aren't numbered and will be plentiful, for a little while. Strikingly, Mattel has launched 6 new face sculpts--date-stamped "2020" on the back of their heads!🤗 All heads are in the smaller collector-size, as opposed to the larger Playline heads used for regular Barbies and Fashionistas. The face for this petite brunette, with her half-flocked pixie undercut, is called "Kit". I could not detect any of the dreaded pixelation of cheaper Playline dolls. Her face looks painted to me and to a very good quality--mine at least was flawless. Mattel clearly assumes most buyers will redress their dolls for photos. Thus, most of the budget has been allocated to the faces, rooted hairstyles, and quality control of the MtM body. Still, the clothing is of a decent quality, simple monochrome, usually either white or black. This doll is the exception, wearing a white sport-mesh & black cropped top--velcro back-closure--paired with a black pull-on calf-length straight midi-skirt. The black fabric is a stretch jersey. Her footwear are slip-on platform wedge sandals. No pink, no prints, and there's not a logo to be found on anything!😉 Like both BMR 1959 series (to-date), these dolls feature the fully articulated Made-to-Move (MtM) bodies. Unlike the recent Yoga dolls,🙄 however, the knees and elbows are made of a matching colour. But it would be a shame to simply purchase these to re-body another Barbie. First, you'd lose that gorgeous head, and second, her light pink skin-tone is relatively unique--decidedly more (blush) pink than the Purple Top Yoga doll. Of the Fashionistas range, I could only match her to #61-Nice in Nautical (DYY90, also petite)--but I won't be losing that gorgeous "Kit" head (see photos)! The white cardboard box, with a single plastic panel, is decent, but these dolls are clearly designed to be de-boxed and posed for social media photos, this one being "Model #3". The full series, already launched in the US (spring 2021), with their face sculpt names, is: ◽ #1 - Latina Female with Wavy Brunette Hair - Lina (GTD89) ◽ #2 - Curvy Black/AA Female with Brunette Afro - Elle (GTD91) ◽ #3 - Petite Asian Brunette Female with Pixie Undercut - Kit (GXB29) - this gorgeous doll😊 ◽ #4 - Black/AA Male with Brunette Braids & Bun - Jon (GXL14) ◽ #5 - Blonde Male with (painted) Beard - Sean (GTD90) ◽ #6 - Tall Blonde Female - Victoria (GXB28) - not Millie!😉 About that articulation, Made-to-Move (originally called "Endless Moves") bodies are more flexible than Pivotal bodies, which have just 11 to 15 points of articulation--e.g., Relaxation, Tokyo 2020 and non-athlete Inspiring Women dolls. This is most noticeable in the elbows and knees, which are double-jointed, allowing the limbs to fold flat and not limited to the 90 degrees of most articulated dolls. The double-jointed elbows and knees account for 8 of the 22 points of articulation, the others being head (tilt & rotate), upper torso, and 2 each of arm sockets, upper arm rotators, wrists, hip sockets, upper thigh rotators & ankles. I cannot wait for the other 5 Looks 2021 dolls to finally hit the UK!🙏 Note, after North America, these dolls are being released next across the EU, before (hopefully🤞) being made available in the UK in a few shops. We may have to resort to imports. Patience is a virtue, they say. But, based on "Kit", they're worth the wait!
