Do the am and fm bands still operate when the radio is in weather alert mode?

This includes the AM and FM bands. The weather alert mode is designed to automatically scan for and provide alerts for local weather emergencies, such as severe thunderstorms or tornadoes, and it takes priority over all other functions of the radio.
