Additional camera batteries
Purchased additional rechargeable batteries for a camera for when I was on vacation. Only problem was I left them in one of the hotel rooms at the of the vacation. But they did really work. Everyone should have several sets.

Only safe bet for Sony DSC-T9
Although there are (much) cheaper & higher capacity "generic" (non-OEM) batteries claiming to "meet or exceed the original manufacturer specifications" being sold (e.g. ebay), they may not always work. As a case in point, although I've tried several generics, I have not found a one which will work with Sony's new DSC-T9. Sony's "InfoLithium® technology" integrate a microchip which they claim: "ensures maximum battery life and maximum power". Unfortunately, Sony also uses this technology to stymie efforts to produce lower cost "generic" batteries by third parties. When cameras (using InfoLithium batteries) power-up they read the status of the battery and display the remaining battery life. If the camera cannot verify the battery condition (or authenticity?), it will display an error message and power down. Although more expensive and lower capacity than generics, this genuine Sony battery is guaranteed to work.

Get the REAL thing!
This Sony NPFT1 InfoLithium Rechargeable Batty Pack is the exact same battery that came with my camera. It's great to have an extra battery pack. I keep one in my camera and the other one in the charger pulled into the wall. Ready to change out anytime it's needed.

FAULTY BATTERY - NOT QUITE AS BAD AS I THOUGHT !
I purchased this battery in Oct 2011 as a spare. I have only just opened up the packaging yesterday 27 June 2012, charged the battery and used it in my camera last night. The battery charged OK but when I put it in my camera it doesn't allow my camera to switch off. I could still take a photograph but afterwards had to remove the battery to switch the camera off and re-insert when I wanted to take another picture. I re-inserted my original, now re-charged, battery into the camera when I got home and the camera is working fine so there is no fault with my camera. Very disappointing as now due to the elapse of time I will not be able to return the battery for a replacement. A lesson there to test out new things when you get them before it's too late ! Stop press 2 July 2012: I have now noted where the ridge is along the end of the battery (in front of the C in Cybershot) that the pink & grey wrapper was getting stuck in the ridge. I've torn that part of the wrapper away and the battery now seems to be working OK and not keeping the camera switched on constantly. Normally I don't have to remove the wrapper on previous purchased batteries but this seems to be working so is only a minor fault that worked out ok with a slight adjustment. I gave one star at first as I thought it was a dud but now it's working fine I'll promote it to a four !

This battery has served me well
I don't know what I can say about a battery... I will say that I'm glad that I found a NEW, authentic Sony battery on Amazon that was very inexpensive. The old battery served my camera well for 6+ years, I can't remember. I had to replace it with an authentic one. There are alot of knock off's out there that I was contemplating to buy, but I have read bad reviews on them. Hope this one serves me well until I get a new digital camera.

Good but expensive
These batteries with Sony's branding are good but they cost a lot more than generic batteries. It's up to the user to determine if the additional cost is worth it. I have had some swelling of generic batteries in the camera which is not good. So I paid the price.

After I figured out my camera had become unplugged in its stand that recharges the battery it was fine. At first I thought it was bad, good thing I found the loose wire..

counterfeit battery
I ordered a Sony camera battery from Aqua Tech. Once charged up it would not hold a charge for more than 20 minutes. On closer inspection it is clear that the item I got does not meet size specifications for the real Sony battery and it has Chinese characters on the label. I was unable to photograph a college graduation because of this bogus battery. A new battery bought from a reliable vendor has worked fine for several weeks now. Do not trust this dealer.
