How does this compare to Cat Dancer 301 Cat Charmer Interactive Cat Toy ? Anyone have both ? I have the cat dancer. Thinking about one of these since its the #1 seller.

I have both and my cat enjoys both -- at different times. I can play with him w/the Cat Dancer 301 --interactive between myself and the cat; but the Go Cat Cat Catcher w/little mouse at the end seems to be his favorite -- if I had to pick one. He plays with it interactively with me and also alone. I noticed he carries the mouse around in his mouth and drags the toy around from room to room. He really likes the little mouse at the end! I've had to purchase a 2nd wand because he chewed away the first. Hope this helps. ID

My cat loves this toy, unfortunatley so much so that he can go rip/fray the wire once a month. Is there any way to make them last longer?

I have the same problem! This is one of my cats (1 y/o female, 5 y/o male) favorite toys, but it frays and then the metal wire pulls completely out of the rubber tip after about 2-3 weeks of consistent use. I have sent back 3 broken ones, but keep order because I can't find anything else (with the exception of da bird) that my cats get so excited to play with. It seems like the company needs to make some improvements to the way to wire is connected to the rubber tip and wand. If it didn't break so easily, this would be the absolute best cat toy out there!

It's the wire secure for cats? They are not going to cut themselves or get bruises or something with this wire?

The wire is absolutely secure for cats. I volunteer at a cat shelter and some cats, after months of play, will tear the mouse from the wire. Replacement mice are available and easy to attach. We have over 20 cats at the shelter and they LOVE this toy. Kittens especially go crazy for it. My cat is 13 years old and he doesn't like toys. After I tried this one he will play for a short time which is encouraging.

My cats "get it" but I don't--why is there braided wire inside the wand of the Teaser and and why is the wand so short, requiring full arm extension?

The wand is short & the wire is long so that the toy at the end of the wire seems to be independently animated. The wire is invisible to the cat but the wand isn't. This makes it much more thrilling to kitty to have the toy running or flying around seemingly of its own accord.
