Came this morning early doors and well packaged, out the box it's very handsome and you can feel its a quality item, I've used microplane before as a chef years ago and after hyping it in my head for over a year it still not only met but exceeded a very soft cheese grated effortlessly a regular cheddar easily a hard cheese effortlessly and very easy to clean. Early review but already blown away! As for anyone worried about the handle I'm used to wood and its what attracted me to this grater just use a food grade mineral oil on it when you get it and wash right after use rince off and then wipe the handle dry and you'll never have a problem

Sturdy and well designed grater, a bit larger than what the images show. Feels like is gonna last for a long time which is fair considering you pay extra for something of higher quality, regardless of the wooden handle which is not important/relevant to me as it is for some people. The important thing for me is how it does its job and cuts. I don't lose my head around unnecessary things. If with time I don't like the handle I'll just remove it by pushing it towards the grater. Et voilà

I had been eyeing this master series for sometime and I finally purchased one - the quality and build behind this product is top notch. It is much heavier and seems much more durable than the standard line of Microplanes. I love the wooden handle and as always, Microplane's graters are so super sharp. I think it is most definitely worth the extra $ for the master series.

Been hanging my nose over this Microplane set for weeks. So glad I bought them. The quality is brilliant and the do a superb job of grating and zesting. I’m a Microplane convert!

One of the best, sharpest and easy to clean graters/micro planes inhave ever owned or even used.Cheeses such as parmesan just glide through this, it even does garlic, ginger etc.Due to the well cut teeth, cleaning it is easy too.Lovely walnut handle, just use some food grade mineral oil every now and then to keep it looking fresh.

This grater is stunning, just the right grate for hard cheese. I don’t regret the coast now I have tried it, it’s super would recommend.

Once you go microplane, you’ll never go back to a generic grater again. Super sharp and so easy to use. The master series looks great and the wood matches up with other wood in my kitchen so it looks amazing even when left out. The guard is brillant for storage so I have no worries of catching my fingers in the drawer! Will definitely expand my collection.

I consider it almost essential for so much food preparation - eg the ultra-fine grating of garlic or ginger almost to a paste, which, when used in cooking, brings out maximum flavour. The wooden handle looks elegant but the ergonomics could be slightly better.
