Showed up healthy and alive!
It arrived in good condition and I planted it immediately. It had one yellow leaf, but otherwise looks very healthy. It has been about 4 weeks now and it is doing really good so far. It is experiencing new growth and getting new leaves. I'm looking forward to watching it bloom into a beautiful tree.

Patience and following instructions is key
I bought this back in August and it's been 2 months. I live in San diego, CA where the humidity stays around 50-60% and the temp never gets below the 40s at it's coldest. When I received it, the leaves were green and healthy. I followed the instructions that it came with to acclimate it to full sunlight since it's been in shipment for a while. After I transferred to a bigger pot with some Fox Farms potting soil that had worm casing in it. I then put it on a south facing window indoors that gets good sunlight year around. The soil selection might have been a bit intense for it at first since I got some burning on the leaves. After an initial phase of the leaves burning, the browning stopped spreading. Then the plant stabilized and starting growing slowly. Since then, I have a couple new leaves that are growing healthy and the other leaf stems are growing longer too. I only give it distilled water every week when I see that the soil looks and feels somewhat dry. Make sure to follow instructions and give it a high quality draining soil that is not to nutrient dense when it's ready for it. It's a slow growing plant so follow the detailed instructions and it will be happy. Looking forward to using the cocoa when it's ready!

Less tape!!!!!
Plant is ok but took 20 mins just to cut it out the package and almost killed it by taking the tape off!! I get perfecting the plant and have ordered many plants off Amazon. All were perfect with no problem and the person didn’t need to tape it so it withstands a hurricane!!! but if taking it out the package kills it what’s the point. Way over done and I was very lucky it lived!!! Please do better for others!! It was beyond ridiculous.
