My dog has heart disease, lung disease, and respiratory disease. She's 13 years old and after she went to her cardiologist and got her meds, she started improving quite a bit. However, there were still issues at night which most of us who go through this will understand. My dog really doesn't have much fluid issues but night time was an anxiety ridden time for me - forget relaxing. She wouldn't stay still, she kept jumping up and down the chairs and kept going outside then inside. She was driving me insane but at least she wasn't coughing (Vetmedin helped for that). The vet never recommended any supplements but I gave this a shot anyway. For the most part, I had always fed her very well (mostly home-made foods) but I changed from grain free to whole grains and made sure everything was very low sodium and completely changed her snacks which was probably the most difficult part since she had come to expect them. Initially I would only give 1 of these supplements, sometimes 2 per day just to test these out. I started out very inconsistent because I was cautious to add anything to her doctors multiple prescribed meds. Once I started giving her the appropriate dose for her size (3 pills per day) I noticed immediately, she stopped bothering me at night. She stopped fidgeting and would have restful sleeps and didn't wake me up. Some complain they don't like how the pills fall apart when they are older but I actually prefer this because like my magnesium pills, they work better when they are stronger and "fresher". Needless to say I don't really have an issue with this as I now make sure she gets them 3 times per day everyday. I really hope more people try this out for their dogs with heart disease because it has had a significant positive impact on mine. Taurine is great for the heart. I say if you are on the fence, just give it a try. This was definitely one of the best decisions I made for her.

OH MY! i think everyone should know about this suppliment it has transformed my dog to her normal activities and she is 16yr old ,with heart murmur on vetmedin & furosemide she is 4lbs I started her on 1/4 tab but I contacted seller and they said 1/2 tab was ok to give her. I will update on that. Im not sure WHY! Dr's dont tell you this??? I DO recommend this for dogs with heart issues. I am so grateful. Thank You Dr Oscar.

I saw a product similar on another platform, much more expensive. My 5lb Yorkie, who coughed so much, vet said collapsed trachea, could not hold her to get Xray, another Vet said allergies, went through all the shots, etc. still coughing, laying around doing nothing. Found clip about dogs coughing, checked her food, lo and behold, her food does not have Taurine in it. Vet on video says lacking taurine can cause a very slight enlargement of heart which somehow interfere with breathing thus causing coughing. I started with 1/2 tablet once a day, little cough at night changed to 1/4 tablet twice day - I have a different dog. Her coughing is practically non existent she is running playing and being bossy again. We have only been using for five days but this has been a miracle, by the way she is 14 years old. Will follow up in a month to let you guys know if it is still working.

Legumes, common in grain-free dog foods not only does not provide enough taurine, an essential amino acid, they also prevent taurine absorption. Switched to a Chicken and Brown Rice high rated dog food for all three of our dogs, and now supplementing 1 dog with this taurine, after much searching for a high quality Taurine supplement for dogs to help correct problem (Heart Efetion) possibly caused by lack of taurine as one or partial cause. UPDATE: 27 September 2021 - Vet checked the one dog. And after 6 months, his heart murmur went from grade 3 to grade 1. Switching dog foods and Taurine definitely made the difference.

My 9 yr old Lab was diagnosed with enlarged heart a few months ago & was also having trouble breathing especially at night. Did some research that took me to this. Got some & she is breathing & sleeping better at night and playing like she feels good. So happy to see this improvement cause the way things was going thought I was going to lose her. Haven't been back to the vet but hoping for a good check-up.
