Perfect for large dogs!
I have these bowls in small, large, and gigantic; a pair for each stage of my canine companion's growth. What made me buy the first pair when he was a puppy is this particular color, bright green, for some reason it's his favorite color, out of dozens and dozens of toys in a pet store, he always goes for toys that are bright green, so I got these and they were perfect. Then he got bigger and rather than refilling the bowls all day long, I wanted bigger bowls, but since Fiesta isn't cheap I didn't want to indulge in another even more expensive pair for a larger set. Huge mistake! I bought him a nice glass set that he hated because they made a ringing echoing sound, he wouldn't eat or drink out of them. So I got him plain bowls which he pushed all over the place, spilling food and water everywhere. So I bit the bullet and bought Fiesta again, next size up, and they are so heavy thick sturdy, again in his favorite color, I had once again found the perfect bowls. But then he got bigger again. So just last month I bought these massive 2-liter bowls, and they are gorgeous, he loves them, I love them, everyone who comes over loves them, and I expect their exceptional quality to endure for a lifetime.

These bowls are the right size and the colors are gorgeous
I purchased six of these bowls all in different colors (peacock, scarlet, tangerine, shamrock, turquoise, and plum). The colors are absolutely gorgeous. In additon, these bowls are:- sturdy (although slightly heavy)- pretty large serving bowls- the size (although large for one or two people) is just right to serve (for example) one pound of cooked linguine- the bowls can be used for baking up to 500 degrees--I recently baked a cake recipe that came out nicely- they wash easily and are chip resistantI highly recommend these if you are looking to add a little color to your kitchen but don't want to sacrifice function to do so. Overall, Fiesta dinnerware quality is superb and I am so "hooked on Fiestware" that I have to stop myself from buying more for my collection.NOTE: Amazon packaged these wonderfully with lots of bubblewrap so that they wouldn't break. I've already had about nine shipments of Fiestware from Amazon (they seem to like to ship 1-2 dishes in a box) and each shipment was packaged exceptionally well.

Nice big bowl... no lid
If you are going to serve something that gets cold quickly (I'm looking at you Mr. Broccoli) you don't want to use this dish. But if you made a big batch of mashed potatoes, some wonderful candied yams, or that big ole batch of collard greens with a ham hock... this is the bowl for you. It is plenty big to hold a lot of your veggie (and who can get enough of collard greens?) But without a top anything that is delicate is going to cool down really fast. Like all of the Fiesta serving dishes, it is heavy and thick so if you do have to serve something that needs to retain heat, try gently warming this in your oven to about 130 degrees before putting your broccoli in it.Like all Fiesta that I have bought over the past couple of years, it matches perfectly in style, finish, and quality. It is perfectly round with no blemishes. I usually hand wash this one as it is a larger bowl, but it will wash up just as nicely in a dish washer.

Perfect size for big family servings
I generally love Fiestaware and this is no exception. It is thick, heavy and covered in a beautiful red glaze. I love the size and shape of this bowl--perfect for mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, rolls, pasta salads, macaroni and cheese, grilled veggies, etc. You don't have to worry about the hot foods since you can even put this in the oven (it's summer--I haven't done that yet but am looking forward to fall dinners that way). I also appreciate how easy clean-up is, I can put it into the dishwasher, but I rarely feel the need since food doesn't seem to stick... Practical and pretty, I keep it on top of my vintage breadbox when I'm not cooking/serving with it since it seems a shame to put it away! If you are looking to start a collection or dip your toe in, this would be a really good place to start. I also recommend the 1 quart serving bowls--perfect for smaller side dishes and more.

Nice heavy bowl
Arrived safely, both the ivory and the green 2-quart bowls that came in one shipment. Made in USA.. I use it when I have a taste for popcorn and mix in a few nuts. Or if I want to transfer a baked chicken to cut up without having to deal with a hot baking pan.Gave one as a gift and she uses it to hold apples and it looks nice. I would describe the green one as 'cheerful'; seems brighter than I expected. And I would describe the ivory as a bit drab, a pale yellowish; but I don't mean to be negative. I like it. I gave the recipient of the gift a choice of which one she wanted and she took the green one, so she thought it was nicer. It's subjective of course.

Colorful
Fiesta Ware is the Best in Serving Dishes. The 2 Quart bowl is not to tall for a Serving Dish and I highly Recommend this for anyone who enjoys some Playful Fun on Colors in their Dinner Ware!
