After switching from a more expensive competitor, we’ve been using Tractive for over a month now and it’s been a noticeably better experience.The tracking is accurate and consistent, even outside Wi-Fi range. The app is intuitive, doesn’t drain your phone battery, and includes thoughtful features without being pushy. Social elements like location sharing and activity tracking are fun, but not intrusive. Most importantly, it does what it promises: keeps tabs on your dog reliably and in real time.Battery life is solid, and the hardware is somewhat more clunky than the main competitor yet easy to attach. It’s also much more affordable than other options we tried, both up front and over time.Customer service hasn’t been needed often, but when we’ve reached out, it’s been straightforward and responsive, no hidden fees, no games.If you’re looking for a GPS dog tracker that just works, Tractive’s been the clear winner for us.

I have not (thank God) had to use these to find my puppies, yet, they are only 12 weeks old. I got these because my cousin recommended them. He uses them on both of his dogs who run wild on the farm where there is no internet and cellular connection can be spotty at times. He said that he can always track them with it.I absolutely love the health monitoring attributes. Being able to monitor their sleep and how they are doing definitely gives me peace of mind.I highly recommend these, especially if you have clever furry friends. These would have been very handy when I had my escape artist many years ago!

Great item, the only downside is the service renewal. I will add that I have a smaller dog and the device is a tad bigger than I expected. However it does seem to fit comfortably on his collar. The app is great and the battery seems to last for a couple of weeks.

Absolutely no problem with the gps. I traveled from Texas to PA with my brother tracking our progress so well that he was able to know exactly when to walk out to the street to wave us in.Huge problem with the method of attachment to the collar. It’s just a flexible piece similar to a rubber band. You hook it on one side of the tracker, slip it under the collar and then pull it until it stretches far enough to hook on the other side.Guess what happens if you search for “Tractive rubber clip”? You find multiple sellers of replacements similar to Tractive’s clip, plus you find some alternate methods. These sellers know Tractive inferior clips need replacing or upgrading. They’re making money doing itIf those sellers know,Tractive should know. They are either stupid or they have chosen to ignore the problem.I give it 3 stars because it works flawlessly, but it is entirely useless if it can’t stay attached to the dog. That is a huge engineering problem.I am not happy that I can’t count on the device staying on my dog in the event he gets free.BTW, it failed less than a week after it arrived. Shameful.

All I needed and more to help keep my dog safe. Ease of use, responsive, long life after full charge. Instantaneous notifications. Multiple settings for home and away.

I have two older trackers and really wanted to like this one. My dog loves to nap in the sun and his fur gets warm. Apparently so do the tracker. And it turns OFF because it is hot. Does it turn back on???? No, it does not. I missed two of the notifications when it did this and my dog was not protected. He just was wearing it. My solution was to swap the tractive with another one of my dogs that does not like to sunbathe. I do understand overheating, but I live in the desert, and the sun is hot. If my dog got out, I'd not have found him. If dog control got him, it would be a BIG fine. If he was hit by a car, my heart would have broken.I do not recommend this tracker. I do recommend the previous version. BTW, the older one has not turn off and he still sunbathes. And that one is even black to soak more of the heat up.

Great product, app is effective and gives live updates. Makes an anxiety filled pet parent feel at ease knowing you just click a button and can see your dogs location in real time. Recommend over FI collar. Membership is cheaper and you get more real time updates with this tracker vs FI Collar.
