Fairly quick my 7year old son loves taking in and out on water does great flips and climbs over most obstacles hasn't broken it yet tumbling down steps and battery lasts well before recharging.

Biggest issue with this is putting the batteries in and turning it on!First up, while the car is USB rechargeable, the remote requires batteries for some reason - and they are not included. So be aware you'll need to find 2 x AA batteries if you order this.Actually figuring out how to get the batteries inside the remote is another matter. It looks like it has screws to get into the battery compartment, but really it's just a button that you need to press with a pointy object at the same time as sliding the battery compartment down. It's pointlessly complicated.The next issue is turning the car on. The instructions say "locate the on/off switch and turn it on". Except there's no obvious switch on the car. It turns out there's a little silicon covered square on the back with no markings. It looks like a button, but in fact you have to slide it to turn it on.Everything seems as though it's been designed to deliberately make it more difficult for a child to use.Once you get it set up, however, it is quite fun. It works a bit like a tank, with no actual steering mechanism, it just changes the speed and direction of the left and right wheels to make it turn. On the plus side, this means it can spin on the spot, and it goes quite fast.However, in my tests I found that it wasn't able to turn at all on carpet. The rubber wheels just grip too much and the car can't slip the way it needs to in order to turn. So really you need to use this on a solid floor without carpet. If you can do that, it's great fun. But it's a lot of hassle to actually get to that point.

The media could not be loaded. The car body is USB rechargeable but the controller needs 2 AA batteries ( not included). If you are giving the car as a gift or surprise you may want to charge it up and fit the batteries before hand so that it is ready to use out of the box. I found the car charged up in 17 minutes - a red light comes on the base when it is charging and goes off when charged. The controller has what I thought was a black screw holding the battery cover but actually is a button that needs to be pressed down with a sharp small tip ( such as a mini screw driver tip or the tip of a paring knife, fork prong or skewer). The car needs to swicthed on midway up the back of its body and this swtich is covered by a white semi opaque silicone cover as is the USB port on the base. This is to help the car be water resistant if using it to drive through puddles. The cage work over the car is really great for gripping and handling the car and the big wheels give the car great stability. The car can travel quickly forward and back and turn around and do long 360 degree turns it also has a few lights on the side of its body and the light shines through the wheel tips. Good fun! Just make sure you have 2 AA batteries in stock and ready to go!
