An excellent read. It brought back many childhood memories for me. It is a must read for any committed football fan, as it chronicles the efforts to keep top class football being played throughout the WWII years. Icons such as Tommy Lawton, Stanley Matthews, Raich Carter, Jack Rowley, Joe Mercer, Matt Busby and many other famous players kept the fans entertained in those dark times.
