I use many Proraso shaving products after reverting back to double edge razor (fed up with multi-blade gimmics at ridiculous blade refill cost). If u decide to whip out your (or your dad's) old Gillette (made in USA) double edge razor device (Highly recommend cleaning, adjusting, lubricating, & sterilizing by running through dishwasher sanitize cycle - do this first then other suggestions listed) Using Proraso products (this product - balm aftershave lotion, also use their refreshing clear after shave, their pre-shave conditioner and finally their tube shaving creams which provides a creamy rich lubricating foam and their regular soap type shaving cream tub - some are lightly scented some are for sensitive skin and some are enriched with protective and skin nourishing ingredients - used selectively for different weather and skin conditions - they help tremendously to avoid razor burn, dry or irritated facial conditions - like winter and a heavier beard after several days of beard growth. Their formulas are non irritating, and non-allergetic. Makes shaving with a really sharp blade - e,g, Feather Brand - easier and safer (less of a chance for razor burn, rash, dry skin). Used Properly your Face after a nice close double edge shave and Proraso Products is as soft & smooth as a baby's bottom.

This lotion feels incredible. it’s not too thick or thin of a solution. The scent is very subtle which is a big bonus that it’s not overpowering. 10/10 would order again

I'd been using Nivea Sensitive shave balm for a lot of years. Excellent product... until they changed the formulation recently. The new stuff has a decidedly greasy feel and that led me to search for a decent replacement. I'd known about Proraso's balm but never tried it until now. I have to say that, while it is more expensive than Nivea's balm, I also think it is better. It has a scent but it is pleasant and very light.Since I bought this, I contacted Nivea who told me they were switching back to the old formula because of the complaints they'd received. I may try switching back to Nivea when this Proraso runs out. Or not. This stuff is very nice, not greasy, has a great feel and scent. If they really do bring back the old Nivea balm formula, I may simply switch back because it is way cheaper than the Proraso. That's the only down side I see for it. Proraso is otherwise a really fantastic shave balm.UPDATE: Nivea sent me coupons for 3 free bottles of their revised formula, which they claim is the old, non-greasy formula. Can confirm the replacement balm is like the old formula. Have to shout out to Nivea customer service for taking their customer's concerns seriously. Thank you, Nivea, for the replacements. I am still liking the Proraso balm very much but am down to the last of it. I'll use that up and switch back to Nivea. If the old Nivea doesn't work out, I have to say I'd switch permanently to Proraso.

I ordered some of the Protective Proraso After Shave Balm to replace my old brand, which was unfortunately discontinued. So far, I've been very happy with this stuff! I have sensitive skin, and I get razor bumps if I don't use an aftershave. This balm feels great to put on, has a really nice smell, and really helps hydrate my skin. I've already ordered another bottle to have a backup! It doesn't get as many uses out of a bottle as my previous products, but it's still pretty good value. I love the bottle too!

Subtle and pleasant

I had been using the Proraso pre-shave cream as an after shave. This is much better. It moisturizes really well and leaves the skin feeling better. Now I just use the pre-shave for the pre-shave!An added bonus is that with the after shave balm, a little bit goes a long way, so I anticipate having to buy this less frequently that the pre-shave cream.The smell is clean, but nondescript and not very fragrant at all. So it really smells neither good nor bad to me. But it sure feels good!It's definitely worth a try if you are looking for something new and you're on the fence.

I have never found anything else that has the consistency and feel of this lotion. It is neither liquid nor cream but some magical state of matter in between. The smell is pleasant but I wasn't sold on it at first. After using it a while I am hooked. I was rotating with another after shave (lotion type) that offered SPF. But I like this so much now that I use only this and I'm rolling the dice on skin cancer. If that's not an endorsement, I don't know what is.

In my 50s. Entire life never really had a thick enough beard to keep one looking good; but at same time shaving sensitive skin especially neck would usually feel slightly sore after the shave no matter what aloe or other creams used and during changing of the seasons summer to fall, winter to spring, perhaps related to air conditioning or heated rooms, my neck might break out with raw red bumps from shaving. Painful and ugly. I am sure there are other products out there to help but this one has done the job above and beyond the call of duty for me. And ordering it from Amazon makes it easy. Have not had soreness or redness since beginning to use about year and half ago so have made it thru the seasons without incident. I like the liquid consistency, not too thin not to thick. My Lady suggested I use it like a moisturizer and please don't revoke my Man Card but I began that about 3 months ago; after liberally applying to the area I shaved, I then lightly apply over my face, nose ears and back of neck; seems to help keep my skin from drying out and is not oily or pore blocking at all that I can tell. That part may not work for you but for me it seems to and regardless, I obey the Lady. Top notch product.
