I will probably never take this off, it's my favorite necklace!!Like the description says, it's a lab-created opal, but that definitely doesn't take away from how pretty it is, guarantees you a beautiful piece of jewelry, and it also keeps production and costs (for us too!!) cheap!! It shines brightly and the color-play is unlike what you would find in cheaper natural opals, where the variety and brightness of colors here would be rare to find.I bought this only for the opal pendant, so I don't really care for the quality of the chain. It also seems sturdy enough, so I will be using it unless I find another chain in rose-gold I like more or I find that I'm allergic to it! You're really paying for the opal, not the chain.It came in a plastic bag inside a very pretty purple velvet-y jewelry bag, which I probably wont use but I appreciate, especially because it makes for great gift-giving!Will update if the coating comes off, or if the material causes me allergies! :)UPDATE 1 week later : Rose-gold color has not rubbed off, chain is holding up and no allergic reaction/skin discoloration!! a really great and cute necklace

It was a pretty opal necklace. It exceeded my expectations. It was given as a gift to my granddaughter.

This necklace is truly beautiful. I bought it to go with the matching earrings my sister in law bought me. You can find the earrings on Amazon too. I wear them together for everyday use. The necklace shines and sparkles and is a good size. I’ve had it for a couple months now and it’s holding up well.

Nice stone and setting but they put the necklace in a plastic bag and stick it in a box. Not very gift-like. Other than that it's okay.
