Finally a sleeping bag that’s not oversized huge but perfect to be able to roll around in and stay comfortable! Really nice quality materials, and the way the bag cinches around the sleep mat is perfection. So glad I found this.

I just recently returned from an alpine lake (el. 9,000'/2743m) car camping trip, multiple nights, the daytime high temps were in the low to mid 80's °F/upper 20's °C and the night time low temps got down to the high 40's/low 50's °F/~10°C with variable winds from 5-15mph/8-24kph throughout the day and night with some scattered light drizzle.My tent was a Kelty Merced 4 (3-season, 8'x8', 4 man tent, partial coverage rainfly, great ventilation in this tent) with footprint, 2 moving blankets as a padded floor covering inside (for comfort, protection, unknown insulation value), queen size 2" egg crate memory foam (for comfort, unknown insulation value) with military surplus wool blanket (for comfort, unknown insulation value) on top. I slept in this tent alone in just the chonies, no socks, no long johns, no hat, no hand/foot warmers, no hot water bottle, etc. I didn't get any condensation or get wet during the night.I'm 6'2"/188cm and 185lbs/83.9kg and need room when I sleep. So I paired this 20°F/-7°C Big Agnes Dream Island double wide sleeping bag with the Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Ultra 50"x78" double wide sleeping pad (comfortable pad, R-value 4.5, this pad was great), an RV/cot full size fitted sheet around the sleeping pad (for a little extra comfort and flexibility of sleep system when car camping), 2 Klymit Drift pillows (I love these pillows, comfortable car camping) and 2 Ozark Trail closed cell foam sleeping pads (comfort, R-Value 2.0).The first night I used the 2 Ozark Trail sleeping pads under my Big Agnes sleeping pad, which fit quite nicely with the Dream Island sleeve and the fitted sheet helping to hold them in place. I had the Dream Island sleeping bag unzipped on both sides 3/4 of the way down every night. I slept too warm the first night and got rid of the 2 Ozark Trail sleeping pads after the first night. I only used the Big Agnes sleeping pad with fitted sheet the remaining nights. I didn't have to add air to my Big Agnes sleeping pad a single time the entire trip after setting up. Whenever I felt a little too warm during the night I just spread out to the cooler parts of the Dream Island double wide bag. I didn't use the pillow barn because I use the 2nd pillow to keep my knees from clanging together as I am a side sleeper. I like to spread out and toss around when I sleep. I loved having the very roomy foot box at the bottom of the bag. I didn't get chilled at all while sleeping the entire trip and never felt the need to wrap my head in the hood of the bag during any of the nights. After sleeping in this bag multiple nights I can see that the hood would be a welcome feature to stay warm on colder nights if needed. It does add to the comfort level which is a bonus. The Big Agnes Dream Island 20° sleeping bag gave me such a luxurious feeling while car camping with my setup. I couldn't have been happier with my Dream island sleeping bag and Big Agnes sleeping pad. If you make sure that the ground isn't going to suck the heat out of you all night long, you'll be glad you did. The fitted RV/cot sheet combined with the bag sleeve that goes around the pad enables a wool blanket to be wrapped around the sleeping pad for additional warmth and/or padding, as well as using 2 closed cell foam pads as described earlier. Put down one of those reflective survival tarps roughly the same size as the tent footprint for colder temps in addition to the footprint. There's 3mm and 5mm thick closed cell reflective foam with R-value of 8 you can put down on the tent floor or fasten it under the sleeping pad too. Use a good sleeping bag liner(s) as cover if it's too warm or extend the range of the bag in colder temps. If you get a little creative you can have a very versatile sleep setup that can accommodate just about all of your car camping temp ranges with the Dream Island 20°. I have little doubt I would have stayed warm with my setup down to freezing temps with no need to wear socks, long johns, hat, hand/foot warmers, hot water bottle etc. I would highly recommend this for car camping if you want to get a good night's rest and stay warm should the temps dip down.I hope this lengthy review helps in your decision. I saw some people didn't like Big Agnes' sleep system since their sleeping bags just have a liner on the under side and no under-padding. I find the Big Agnes' sleep system to be very comfortable. I'm glad I got the RV/cot fitted sheet to add to the system. It's a definite bonus.

I had to return since it's not insulated at the bottom so you must use a pad. Otherwise it's ok. Not the best value for the money. I think

This is not a double sleeping bag. It is a sleeping quilt with a pocket for a double sleeping pad.

Bought this for my son and daughter in law. They are big time roof top campers and even go in winter for skiing.I was looking for a -30 winter bag. This doesn't hit that rating. In all cases I'm aware of you need to layer bags to hit that mark. Don't worry about that.Quality is obvious when you see this bag. I own over 10 Big Agnes products and this fits the high standard. Will get more. And made in the USA!! Support them.

I bought this bag to go on a Rapide SL Tent Floor Pad, which slides into a Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2. The whole setup fits together like a glove! This bag is more of a "quilt" (the bottom is pretty much just fabric), but whatever--it works great on this pad. Loved being able to secure the bag onto the pad with the flaps and drawstring. Along with a couple backpacking pillows, which slip easily into the "pillow barn". Makes for the most luxurious repose I have ever had during a backpack!Sure it's a little overkill--this bag is hardly ultralight (or ultra packable--seems to take up nearly half my 65L Baltoro...) But I won't buy down, so the lack of uber-compressibility is not something I hold against the bag. As I get a little bit older, I know that the comfort-quotient is one of the things that take a backpack sleeping experience from "tolerable" to "let's do it again!" And this bag, so far, delivers.
