works like it should. Connected up to my PC and now i can monitor the Batteries, Charger, and panels.

Another piece of solid Victron equipment. Why there are only 3 victron direct ports on the cerbo gx, I will never know. But this works just fine to get past the limit

I used 6 of these cables with a Raspberry Pi 3B+ running the latest Venus OS. 3 of the cables are connected to a simple USB hub since the Pi only has 4 USB Ports. Works perfectly connecting all my Victron hardware to the RasPi. A high quality cable. Now I can run VRM locally or via internet to view, modify and update all of my Victron Hardware. I also shared my system to VRM World so others can compare their output. I am very pleased with the build quality of Victron's devices. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Do it right, do it once!

Excellent device. Has a lot of software built in. It considers a LOT of parameters to reflect the accurate state of the battery. Will purchase this one going forward for ANY battery application !!

I need a reliable serial 2 USB adapter to collect data from my solar system components in a hot country and hot working environment that works 24/7/365. These are expensive but they deliver and fit to my demanding application.Before I bought these I used regular chipo “ftdi cables” they worked .. but they froze and hang from time to time it could be once a day or once a week or twice a day or one in two weeks - for my application this is not good enough and not acceptable. So yes , the victron ones are expensive but they don’t hang or freeze and for me the price is worthy .

Personally Victron Energy products have worked fine, but many of the add-ons like the VE.direct to USB or VE.direct to VE.direct cables seem too expensive. But being corporate using proprietary they will charge you more until someone comes up with another option. I have sense learned to go with the VE.direct smart blue tooth dongle since its about the same price and way more versatile. I have ten mppt controllers as I leverage the BT to create a network to charge the battery banks.

I used this cable to connect a Victron MPPT solar charge controller to a Raspberry Pi running Venus OS (a Victron-supported configuration that effectively turns the Pi into a Cerbo GX for remote monitoring of Victron hardware).Setup couldn't be easier: I took the cable out of the box, connected one end to the VE.Direct data port on the controller, connected the other end to the USB port on the Pi, and Venus immediately started communicating with the controller. No configuration or changing settings were needed.Although it's quite straightforward to built your own VE.Direct cable and it will also work fine, the Victron cable includes galvanic isolation between the VE.Direct device and the USB device for additional electrical safety.
