The best drone hands down 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Potensic Atom 2 — A Review That’s Actually HelpfulIf you’re in the hunt for a drone that’s light on your wallet, light on restrictions, yet heavy on features—this review’s for you. Unfold, launch, and get ready to be impressed.⸻Highlights — Why the Atom 2 Stands Out✨ Exceptional Value in a Compact Package• Under 249 g (about 8.6 oz), the Atom 2 slides into the sub-250g category—no FAA/CAA registration required in many places .• Despite its price (starting around $329 for the standard kit, $449 for the “Fly More Combo”) , you’re getting serious features.Imaging That Rivals Heavier Drones• Captures 4K HDR video at 30fps, with a sturdy 3-axis gimbal keeping footage buttery smooth .• Shoots 48 MP stills (JPEG; RAW limited to 12 MP), giving you plenty of detail and cropping flexibility .• Packs a 1/2-inch Sony CMOS sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 4-in-1 pixel tech—fantastic in lower light .Smart Modes Powered by AI• Offers AI tracking modes—Spotlight, Follow, Parallel—that lock onto your subject for smooth, cinematic capture .• Includes QuickShots, Dolly Zoom, timelapse, slow-motion (up to 5×), panorama, and more fun flight modes to elevate your storytelling .• AI Night Mode enhances video in dark settings—boosts ISO (up to 25,600) and reduces noise for surprisingly vivid night capture .Robust Flight Performance• Solid GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou positioning ensures stable hover and smart return-to-home features like Dynamic HomePoint (following you back) .• Up to 32 minutes per battery flight time, with 10 km (6.2 mi) video transmission thanks to PixSync 4.0 .• Level 5 wind resistance (approx. 23.6 mph) and a top speed of ~36 mph in Sport mode—feels far more capable than its size suggests .Improved Controller & App• Brand-new AT2-RC controller, robust and ergonomic, plus the Potensic Eve mobile app offers intuitive layout, live feed, and helpful tips .• Controller battery lasts around 4 hours, and dual detachable joysticks pack away for travel ease .⸻The Trade-Offs (Because Nothing’s Perfect)• No obstacle avoidance—a typical sacrifice in this price bracket. Requires open areas for safer flying .• 48 MP stills are JPEG only, not RAW—limits post-processing flexibility .• Lightweight build means it’s vulnerable in strong winds; pick calm conditions for best results .• Slight lag in livestream, depending on environment — usually manageable but worth noting .⸻What Professionals & Reviews Say• TechRadar (Sept 2025) labels it the “best DJI alternative for beginners,” citing its sub-250g form, 4K video, 3-axis gimbal, tracking, and value price .• Tom’s Guide gives it an Editor’s Choice, praising the image/video quality, AI tracking, and improved control experience for budget-conscious pilots .• Tom’s reviewer Nikita (having flown it a month) calls it “the ultimate DJI Mini 4K alternative”—lightweight, travel-friendly, and packs features heavy hitters don’t .• Drone experts list it as a standout non-DJI option for new pilots .⸻Final Verdict: Is It Right for You?Absolutely – especially if you want:• A feature-rich, affordable entry into aerial videography.• A compact, travel-friendly drone that avoids regulatory hassle.• Smooth 4K video, high-res stills, and AI-powered cinematic modes. It isn’t perfect—no obstacle sensing, not ideal for windy conditions, and no 48 MP RAW output—but for its cost and portability, it’s a powerhouse. If you crave lightweight performance, sleek creative tools, and enjoy editing sharp images, the Potensic Atom 2 delivers exceptional value.

My best drone yet.
So I bought the Porensic Atom by mistake. I Tryed it and liked it... So I decided to by the Atom 2 to see the difference. The Atom 2 is SO much better. Different app interface, different controller, and better camera. This thing is rock solid in wind gusts up to 20(ish) mph. I can put it up 200ft in the air and walk away to talk to the neighbors without worrying what it's doing. The built in settings and features are great. I Love it. I've had a couple other GPS camera drones in the past and this is by far the best I've had.

Great drone
Haven't flown it a lot, but very impressed with it. Camera is super stable even on windy days. Battery life is good too. I've had it out 15 minutes at a time and still had 46% battery left. And you don't have to recalibrate when you change batteries. Just pop one in and go. The negative reviews are usually from dji fan boys and those comparing it to drones that cost a lot more. Only connection issue I had was when it was 1/4 mile away and lots of trees in the way. Reduce the camera resolution for longer flight times and just cruise around and enjoy it. I'm satisfied with bang for the buck.

Atom 2 high power long range drone with upgraded camera
Clearer video than the atom 3 with higher resolution and lower f stop.Range - Significantly better than ATOM 3Controller - A lot bigger but battery last longer and I am sure it has bigger batteries for higher power transmitterAmazing wind resistance I flew In 20Mph wind and tracked a ship with no problemsThe range is amazing and never lost signal

Nice Porduct
I liked the Drone, it meets all the requirements, however if it says it has 32 minutes of flight time it should be similar, or at least 24-28 minutes, it lasts and has approximately 18-20 minutes of autonomy, which is not bad since I bought it with 3 batteries, but it would be something to improve.

This is (NO LONGER) tough...
I am updating my review from three stars to five! Here's why: Potensic customer service is phenomenal, and they answered each of my concerns beautifully. Check this out...For RID, the information is blank and does not get updated unless the customer enters data. That's good, but even better is that they will be updating the software to let the user determine if and when they want to use RID in an upcoming update. The registration information is solely for interacting with customer care and will not be used for any other purpose. The geo-fencing has also been removed in a recent update already! There is no download in advance or restrictions imposed by the drone. And, the bag was updated at customer request to be sleeker with a better zipper and external material. You can see that they are intensely committed to customer satisfaction, and with these changes there is nothing but excellence in this product! FIVE STARS!--------------The drone is great, very much worth all the attention it gets at this price. But let me tell you what I don't like before I tell you what I do like.Potensic now requires you to associate an email address and account info directly to the drone itself. It always broadcasts it's ID information when turned on, and you cannot stop that. They have added geo-fencing, and won't let you fly very far if you don't register, and at that you can't use the drone more than a few days if you don't register. I don't know if the government made them do it, but this wasn't the case at all with the ATOM. They don't even tell you they require this before you purchase it. They make you give them permission to pull the drone data at their will also. So, for now, it's a three star review at best. But what about the rest of the flying experience? The drone is awesome. More stable in flight than the ATOM, much better camera, and a vastly improved remote control that is fabulous to use, has better control features, and feels sturdier. This drone has new, quieter propellers (by a little), far more camera functionality including multiple panorama options, and still great battery life. Distance is superior... Not 10km, but I got over 2 miles away before it started having issues with communication. The bag is disappointing, once you've had the old bag. The older ATOM bag has pockets on the outside, a handle on top of the bag, and a padded shoulder strap. The new bag does not have those, but is otherwise functionally similar. The batteries are the exact same. The charging dock is too. The propellers are updated, and not interchangable. They offer a protection plan, and if you're going to crash a few times or fly in the rain, it's worth it probably. But on the other hand, if you pay attention to where you're flying, it's unlikely you'll crash. There is a deductible required with each drone replacement as well. I'll keep the money and see what other drones/updates hit the market in the meantime.I love the drone and it's capabilities. I just wish they would remove the hokey registration and geo-fencing limitations.
