LG Electronics MJX41178908 Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve , white

Original part was leaking and showed signs of sediment build-up. I was a bit hesitant at first based on description and picture angle, but when it arrived I compared it with the original part and it appears to be OEM with matching part number MJX41178908 on the sticker. This is an exact fit. Only discernible difference is that the original had screws holding in place on the area that was leaking, whilst the ordered item has braces. For kicks I took apart the original and it doesn't seem serviceable.

Our LG Refrigerator water dispenser had very little water pressure and we thought the line was possibly clogged. I found a pin hole in the water line so I proceeded to replace the water line for $1.19. The line had previous been replaced under warranty and I found the technician had jerry rigged the line going into the water valve. I decided to replace the water valve through Amazon for a total cost of $40.00 (included shipping). The water valve arrived in a timely manner and within minutes I had full water pressure and it is working great.

Our 4 year old LG french door refrigerator (2009) had a leak, water pooling in the front. Good - caught the leak, bad - some water damage to wood. Pulled the refrigerator out from the wall, cleaned all the dust to accurately track the leak which was the valve (part number was on the valve). Not able to purchase a new valve in our area (found out they wanted $80 for one) so shut off water and ordered part. Very easy to install (see youtube video) - unplug appliance, secure water, clean area/vacuum coils, unscrew old valve, remove wire lead, remove water inlet tube, remove water outlet tube (by first removing retaining clip); reverse order installation. Run about 2 gallons of water through system to check workings and check for any leaks. Perfect part and fit! Saved $40 on the part and about $200 on a repairman service call. Dissatisfied that a $2000 LG refrigerator would use a critical water valve that broke and leaked in 4 years. Water damage could have been serious if gone unnoticed.

UPDATE: After ordering another new valve, thinking that the previous one was faulty, I found the water supply line to the fridge to be partially block, causing the water to flow very slow. Cleared the blockage and everything works perfect with lots of pressure. I now have a spare water valve.Easy to install, exact OEM fit, only worked for less than 3 months. Guess ill need to buy another one since I just missed the "return by date" Gonna see what my options are.

This valve worked on the LG refrigerator. The installation is easy and after the replacement, the water flow increased. The product was priced fairly.

The water dispenser on my Frigidaire Elite slowed to a trickle and--after poking around inside my refrigerator, followed by some Internet research--this water inlet value appeared to be the likely culprit. Watched a few YouTube videos on how to replace the component, ordered the part and got it installed in less than 10-minutes after receiving the value! An exact replacement and it works beautifully!
