Siwode Michonne's Katana TWD-Katana 40-Inchs

Spent over $600 on WW2 Katanas from TrueKatana and had to send them all back because they came damaged and scratched. Figured I’d give this one a shot since I liked how it came ready to be carried on your back. Only saw the first season of The Walking Dead when it originally aired so I had to Google who used the sword in the show. My first impression was “there’s no way this is what they meant to send”. After receiving unboxing the three from TrueKatana I had an idea of what to expect so to see how high quality this was from Amazon of all places blew my mind. Actually has a full tang and is clay tempered. Came extremely sharp, sharp enough to do the paper test and it sliced through every time like it was butter. I’m also 95% sure it’s real Stingray skin under the wrap whereas most nowadays use plastic or some other fake material. The shoulder strap is easily removable if you want to wear it on the hip instead. Also comes with an additional pair of the leather rings that go around the Saya in case the original ones break or get lost. Nice of them to include that when they don’t have to. I was so impressed with the quality of it that I ended up buying a second one that was slightly different from the first. It also came very well packaged inside styrofoam that was inside a box inside another box. Whereas the ones I got from an actual Katana website were mailed from China in just the styrofoam. So to see multiple layers of protection was very refreshing after cringing at the thought of a Katana in only styrofoam being chucked and thrown around from China all the way to NC lol. Truly real Katanas start at around a thousand dollars, (and even then they are usually in poor condition if they’re cheap) so if you aren’t looking to spend an arm and a leg and just want a nice looking weapon that’s actually useable then I would 100% recommend this to anyone. I’ve seen knockoffs at malls and flea markets that cost $50+ more than this and are un sharpened, cheap blade material, not full tang, fake Stingray skin, and probably many more issues that I’m not knowledgeable enough to point out. So for this one to be the price it is for the quality it is it’s truly a steal. I have two and whenever I decide to get more to fill up the wall rack I will most definitely check out this place’s inventory first. TLDR: buy this now.

Once I opened the box that this sword came in, I fell in love with the sword. It is Michonne's katana from the Walking Dead. The stitching on the scarab is done by hand. Leather strap to wear the katana either on your side or across your back and both ways work great. The katana comes already sharp. There is no rattle and it will cut through small trees (Tested). I could not believe how great this sword is for the price that I paid. It could be an easy 500-600 bucks easy. It is worth the price that it is listed for. Of course after testing it was cleaned and sharpened again and sits in a stand for display in my house. It is a great center piece and it always gets others talking about it. I have not removed the plastic wrap that is on the handle because it is white and I do not want it to get dirty. There is no visible defects with the sword and I have seen some reviews about that and the one that I have got does not have any. Overall, it is a great katana and I will end up getting another one that does have the Bo-Hi. This sword is great for any Walking Dead Fan.

This is my first real sword and it a masterpiece, I agree with anyone who says this is worth 500$ - 600$, I cut paper like it was air, and I cut a bottle in half so easily and cleanly, perfect cut, I had it on a wobbly piece of wood in the wind and it didnt fall of it and it didn't even move a Millimeter, that is how easily it cut through, the wood didn't fall over or either, I recommend this so to anyone who wants an amazing sword that is very low priced, honestly I think this sword for 139.99 is better then some selling for 400$ - 500$, you could use this a self defense weapon, it could easily cut an arm off with correct force, but please don't go around cutting arms off, but yeah this sword is so amazingly crafted and insanely sharp and insanely low priced I love it and I would recommend this to anyone. I'm going to buy another soon just for how amazingly nice this is!

Very well made sword and I compared it with the Walking Dead show and its perfect replica. I bought the one for like $130 not the more expensive version of $240+. People said that that sword was razor sharp. I don't need that, Cause i'm not fighting any zombies (LOL). This version is Excellent and solid with all the markings of the original in the series. They give you two leather straps to hang up the sword. The sword stand they show in the aid, is not included. Recommended Highly.

I’m not really sure what to expect out of a katana between one and two hundred bucks. I’m learning though. This is my second. I just returned my first due to “karasaguchi”, cracks on the spine. It was a magnum damascus by Boker. After discovering this flaw, I’ve researched the hell out of steel for swords. Near as i understand, t10 is some tuff stuff, if tempered properly. I thought I knew about blades, being a knife nut, not. All together different in swords. Needless to say I’m intrigued. This Siwode sword appears to be solid, sleek and ready for action. Although not a traditional style, probably not practical, and hard to ever consider an EDC, without getting looks, I love this sword. Fun. It will due nicely for my first in collection. I liked it so much I went ahead an ordered a more traditional sword from Siwode, the cloudy dragon, also t-10. Next stop 1060, 1095, who knows, perhaps l6. I tend to pay attention to detail, thanks Siwode for reinforcing my fetish for inexpensive quality. I’m glad I started here. Thanks.

This katana is very sturdy and made very well, but it wasn’t as sharp as I thought it’d be. It had no defects physically, everything on it looks amazing, even the ito looks great. Although still really sharp, the Hamon on this T10 steel is really light, but noticeable in the right lighting. For the price, I give it 5/5 but overall I’d give it a 4/5.

i had an issue with the blade due to the shipping service and i have never spoken with a seller on amazon who stands behind their product like Siwode. sure there are some great people on here but their passion for this art and their dedication to satisfaction is unrivaled in the sea of faceless sellers that is Amazon. their willingness to work with me to make sure i was satisfied was amazing and i cant speak highly enough of the person i spoke with. the fit of this is AMAZING! real rayskin material, fits so nice in the hand with a very strong grip, weight is perfectly balanced and i believe the durability would stand up to the high expectations i have come to see from Siwode but this is a wall piece that will not be used. my grandson however im sure will use his and i will report back with how well it cuts. The quality of this sword alone is well worth the price, probably much more but the quality of the character of the person running things there earned a customer for life and if i buy another sword or 5 in the future they will ALL be with Siwode (unless im looking for a antique)

I really love this Katana and even just ordered another one last night ... cannot believe I did that ... I was skeptical at first when I saw a review saying that this sword is "worth $400 -$500" ... I don't have a $500 Katana to compare with but I am sure it is worth every penny. That's why I just ordered another one before its gone. Not testing on a hard target yet but from plastic bottles to soft drink cans to 2/3 in branches it cut through like butter... it's razor sharp out of the box; I could slice and even chopped the papers easily and clean. After cutting test from soft to medium targets, it still cut through the papers very clean but cannot chop the paper... but I think it's normal. Other parts of the sword are not high-end but very well made and for the price I don't have any thing to complain about. Anyway, I Love it.... also love the "$5 extra" logo on the blade too. Hope this review would help...
