This mat offers a a 7.3 r value, at a 25’x78’ size and inly weighs 1.6 lbs. before the nemo exteme conditions mat came along, this was king. But its still the second best winter time airmat you can buy. The r value is still high enough that you can effectively boost the warmth of sleeping bags and quilts a little bit when youre at around 10-30 degrees. Not the most comfortable airmat because its 3 inches thick instead of 3.5, but remember its weight. It does make a slight “chip bag” sound but nothing major. Its not an airmat to use on bare ground, as its built so lightweight. Filling it up is easy with the updated pump sack and valve system. Deflation is more difficult due to the design of the inside baffles stopping air from moving around, which is one of the things that makes it so warm and comfy. Thats about all i can say about it. Thermarest has been selling this airmat a long time now, it has a good reputation behind it and i finally got myself one back in august during a sale. This is the updated version, using more honed in materials theyve managed to make it even lighter and warmer. And they did update the valve system, although i like exped’s valve and pumpsacks the best, if thats a big factor for you. Buy this airmat if you prioritize warmth and weight savings over a slightly comfier or heavier mat.

First one I ordered. the fill valve failed while I was blowing it up the first time (mouth full of plastic bits, yum!). Second one I ordered has no visible defects but will not stay deflated longer than 30 mins after filling it up and testing it on yoga mat in my living room (with no weight on it!).Unbelievably bad quality for such an expensive product. Despite all the rave reviews I seriously wonder how anyone can trust this product with their safety in the cold.

First night on a Kodiak hunt I woke up cold on the ground. I added air to the mattress and woke up again two hours later cold on the ground. I found a pin hole that the air was leaking from the next day. The repair kit that comes with the mattress had good instructions and I easily patched the tiny air leak. I bought the XL mattress and it fit me well (6’3” 210lbs) maybe a touch too long. It’s light and much quieter than other air ultra light air mattress but not as thick and durable as my tent mates mattress. It takes a lot of air to fill but after it was patched it held air well. It did feel warm when I tested it out before my hunt.

This expensive pad takes a bit of effort to blow-up but the effort is worth it as this pad is GREAT! And it weighs less than my old pad and compacts very well. Spend the money and be comfortable!

Purchased brand new from Amazon in January 2025. Used for the first and only time Early March 2025. The pad deflated during the middle of the night. Reached out to Cascade Designs customer service and still haven't heard anything from them two weeks later... Buyer beware!

This was great. I have been researching this product for a while or i guess multiple brands that would be the best. I felt like this was easy to blow up, it was not as quick as its demonstrated but still quick. probably 7minutes compared to 5 minutes. It did stay fully blown up over night and super quick to pack away. i would easily buy this over and over again. The price was so steep for me but its really worth it to get something that i fully believe will last over time. I used to buy those cheap ones and it wasnt work it. I bough 3 $50 ones and was always nnot pleased with it.
