Good size
Very good size oil stone and well worth the buy. Most importantly it does sharpen knives.

Keep the stone wet even if it is with only water. Turn the stone around regularly to get even wear.
Great product, two sides with different grades. I treated myself to a box to put thevstone in. Stops chipping of stone and makes it less likely to move about when using it. Reasonable price great quality. Speedy delivery. Amazon on the ball as usual.

Arrived broken
Was recommended the Faithfull oilstone box to go with the stone and as it was the same size. However the box is too big and the stone moves about in it. The box also does close, because it’s not a tight fit to the stone, the lid just comes off,, so you’ll need a big elastic band. The stone seems okay but never got the chance to use it as it arrived broken. Full refund when sent back.

Strange
I bought 2 of the same stone and received 2 different ones In the same box. I'm using them as sacrificial stones for polishing sword blades and they are fit for purpose.
