A funky honey, definitely that tree sap, dark maple vibe. Great for Acacia Honey syrup cocktails.
The media could not be loaded. I picked up this bottle so that I could get a touch nearer to the acacia honey feel in several cocktail recipes. If you're a cocktailian, you're probably familiar with the infamous Death and Co., and their several lovely cocktails books in publication. You'll also notice that most of their cocktails that call for a honey syrup specifically refer to the Acacia sort, which infers a particular kind of funk in the profile.I get a bit mad scientist when I make my syrups, using brix meters and super precise measurements. I turned most of this bottle into a 2:1 Acacia syrup for use in the recipes attached here, as well as many others in the D&C text. On its own, the honey is very very dark and viscous, not quite molasses but getting there. Diluted by half with water, and it's definitely more manageable in cocktails. With about an inch left over in the bottle, I got 300ml of 2:1 syrup ready to go. Honey is pretty stable in the fridge for a long time, and naturally anti-bacterial, etc., so it will keep for quite a while, especially when the recipes only call for a quarter ounce or half ounce here and there. It *very much* changes the profile of the drink over my standard house blend of orange blossom honeys around here. Definitely get that sophisticated cocktail bar, with a unique and interesting palate of notes creating a nice sip. Overall, I'm happy to have grabbed this, as it gets truly nearer to the intentions of drink masters and their craft. It's a 5 for me.

Delicious
Love the taste and flavor of this honey, very much different of what is produced everywhere. The only problem is the packaging, would give five stars if it were a traditional wide opening jar instead of a plastic bottle with a narrow opening.

Earthy, deep, complex - TASTY!
I love that the honey came wrapped up in case it leaked in transit - thankfully it didn't!Upon opening the bottle you get a good waft of the deep earthiness that awaits within. I was surprised at it being a bit on the thin/runny side but the flavor surpasses any worries. The flavor profile is reminiscent of molasses - it is complex, earthy and very deep.I wondered what to use it with beyond a spoon or celery lol We found goes well with SO SO many things such as - toast, oatmeal, grits, pork chops, as a glaze for carrots and as a base to make a mitarashi sauce. We are finding so many uses for it and I would love to try all the different ones they offer.Definitely worth a try if you are adventurous in the kitchen!!

Odd
First honey I've ever acquired that smelled fermented. Tried it in tea, then threw it away.

Unique and Tasty Honey
I was excited to try this honey from Indonesia. I chose the Sialang Tree Premium Black Honey option. I had never had this type of honey before and read a little bit about it and the large apis dorsata bees that create it. I found the honey itself to be extremely good quality. The flavor is more complex than the honey I am used to and is both sweet and floral. It's delicious when used in recipes or drinks or eaten alone. While the price is much higher than some other products, I find this to be a specialty product that I would pay extra for.

Good quality honey, no question ... but at high price for a flavor that just doesn’t stand out
The media could not be loaded. Review of: TraBoost - Riau Indonesia Ultra Black Premium Rainforest Honey from Sialang TreeThe TraBoost company has several varieties of honey, and, since I have never in my life tried anything other than lighter colored honey, I decided to try the Riau Indonesia Ultra Black Premium Rainforest Honey from Sialang Tree variety.I was intrigued the this being ‘black’ honey, and I don’t know what a Sialang tree is...so I didn’t know how it would taste.First off, I will say that I consider this honey to be a very good, thick, quality honey. But I was really hoping for a honey that had such a completely different flavor profile that I would be amazed. In this case, though, I can’t really say that this honey is much different than other honeys, in that I can’t really determine any specific taste/extra taste to the honey. Possibly because I’m not sure what flavor profile to ‘look for’ being a Sialang tree honey, I don’t know, but to me it’s mostly just sweet. But for a price tag $28 for a 12.3-ounce bottle this is what I consider to be a pretty high priced version of honey. And, for me at least, I’m just not at the point where I consider this honey to be special enough or ‘wow’ enough to justify that kind of a price tag.It does come very well sealed in a plastic bottle, which makes it much easier to store and pour. The honey did pour out of the bottle nicely with no noticeable signs of crystallization.Bottom line, it’s just not a special enough flavor for the price.

Premium honey at a premium price
The honey is delicious. Full stop. It's REALLY good. Definitely noticeable vs generic off the shelf honey. But is it so much better that it is worth the price point? I guess that depends on how much you love honey. I will definitely say this beats out nearly every honey I've tried. In fact, the only honey i can remember being better is fresh stuff I had gotten from the farmers market, also at a premium price. To be able to order quality this high online is pretty awesome. If you're a discerning fan of quality honey, then this is definitely going to be something you want to try.

Not a Fan
I do not care for this honey, and I have had many different kinds. I know that honey does crystallize over time, but this came crystallized. I squeezed it out of it's plastic bottle into a mason jar and put the jar in hot water, it did return to its original state. I tasted it before and after it was decrystallized and it does not taste good in my opinion, there is a strange aftertaste. 12.3 oz @ $23.00 is a bit high priced even for Kalimantan Honey.
