The bulbs were surrounded by wood shavings and no signs of rot or mold were present. I live in Southern Indiana, considered Grow Zone 6a. After planting these after last frost in spring, they popped up in less than a month. I found that the plants in direct sun grew faster and bigger, popping new leaves every couple weeks. I transplanted a few well-established and leaf-producing bulbs and they bounced back quickly. When I mulched them over this fall in preparation for winter, there were a few new “babies” at the base of each bulb. I’m super pleased with this purchase and very well may browse their shop for more! Review: Get these bulbs! - I planted about 6 bulbs and all of them sprouted. At first I tried them in a container and it didn’t work at all, so I dug them into the ground and waited. Slowly but surely I got sprouts! After they sprouted, there was growth every single day. I am very happy with the bulbs. Unfortunately some bulbs do rot but it is what it is. I think I had two that had rotted after I stored them until I could plant them. They are the most beautiful plants ever. And they are huge. *UPDATE* My growing season with these bulbs were great. Upon digging them off to store them in the root cellar for the winter (I am in zone 7a) they produced about 10 other bulbs, from only 5 bulbs that I planted. Great bulbs!! Cant wait to see how they produce next year!

Half were moldy/rotted. Only three grew.
I received 10 bulbs. They were packaged well and arrived undamaged. Half were very moldy and three were so decomposed that i doubt they will grow. I was unable to tell the top of the bulb from the bottom on those three due to the rot. A bit disappointed since I expected 10 healthy bulbs. Update: I planted these according to the instructions (I've also grown these before, so I'm not unfamiliar with them) and only three came up. I wouldn't recommend these due to the mold.

Seven out of ten
I planted 7 bulbs in the ground, all of them are growing beautifully. I planted three in pots with potting soil and these did not grow. The largest bulbs came up soonest, the smallest were in the pots. I don't know if the failure of the potted bulbs was due to the soil or the bulbs, but 7 of 10 is pretty good.

10 bulbs of elephant ears to embellish the garden
Great lot of 10 elephant ear bulbs (colocasia esculenta). Out of 10, 8 stems have come out so far. I live in zone 9. After a few days in the dark, I planted 5 in flower pots, 3 in the ground in half shade and 2 in the shade, but they have not come out yet. I planted them at 2 inches below the surface. It took an average of 3 weeks for them to come out. I think it is great for the bulbs to be in the sun and being watered everyday. When you plant the bulbs their bottom is recognizable by the little circles where once there were roots. If not sure, plant them horizontally. The seller is great, their customer service is top. I am very very happy with this purchase and really excited to see all these plants growing big! The bulbs were delivered promptly by USPS and arrived in perfect condition. They were very well packed. Great company and great product.

Healthy taro everywhere!
I received the bulbs May 18, and planted them May 19. I was a little concerned after reading the reviews, so I planted some in the ground, partial shade, in zone 9b Florida. The other half were planted in pots, two in garden dirt and the rest in potting soil. I’ve dug some up to examine them, but some I didn’t need to. They’re growing! Of the 12 I planted, the two in the pots in garden dirt rotted after sprouting. I blame the dirt for this. There were aphids in the dirt, apparently. All the ones in potting soil are sprouting or have sprouted well. The tallest is a couple inches above the soil now. Most are still below soil but growing well enough that they should be above soil in a week or so. We’ve had temps in the high 90s, so the soil hasn’t been as wet as I would normally want it. All of the ones in the ground are sprouting very well and are healthiest. One bulb was attacked by a squirrel that ate off the top leaves, but it has healthy looking roots, so I’m leaving it. EDIT: As of June 21, all of the plants are thriving. Most are over 2 feet tall with leaves over a foot in size.

For less than the price of one Elephant Ear Plant, you get 10.
I got a new place, and it has a lot of empty space, so I thought plants would be a great way to fill it. I went to the ursery, and quickly fell in love with the Elephant Ear plants. They are large, and I feel, have a personality. I wanted more... but at $20 per (and that's in Mexico, where things are cheap), getting 10 more would really add up (especially with soil / pots). Not only was I thrilled to find this super deal, but they arrived way faster than I expected, and when I had an issue (because it took me a little while to plant them) - the seller shipped me a replacement. -- Great price, great service. And looking forward to showing great plants. They even answered questions I had about how to grow these things (soil/fertilizer/etc)
