Polished Brass Round Keyhole Cover Escutcheon with Screws (2, Brass)

Bought this to stop a draught coming through the keyhole. It's doing a great job! Due to the keyhole being on a plate handle we simply glued the cover to the plate which has worked great. Was super easy to install and use, quality is really good and it also looks good on the handle. The colour matched perfect!

Good value and happy with it as replacement

The main reason I purchased this item was that I had noticed a significant draught coming through the keyhole of my door and for less that £3 and matching the other door furtniture (brass chain) it looked like a good buy. The draught exclusion aspect works well. My only real issue was that I found it difficult to secure to my door. This may be due to my door but I could not tighten the screws sufficiently, so the escutcheon did not waggle slightly as I opened and closed the cover. I ended up applying a couple of small dobs of super glue, which seem to have fixed the problem.

Works really well - no more draught! Decently thick material.

Decently thick metal, makes a good seal when it's closed and was simple enough to fit with the included screws. The door looks much better and no more cold draft from the keyhole.

Although the product looks very nice it was very fiddly to fit. The rivet holding the pivoting front onto the escutcheon actually protrudes at the back and you need to gouge out a hole in your door so that the escutcheon fits flush.

Very nice item

I bought this to replace an internal cover less escutcheon to stop draught coming through. Positive : Easy to install Looks smart Comes with two screws - some I’ve seen on Amazon do not. Negative: One of the countersunk screw holes on the escutcheon was not deep enough so the screw sits flush, meaning the cover scrapes against the screw head when you try to close it. One star off for this. Overall good value for money.
