A little bulky - but that's part of the job. Worked like a champ and made me feel a lot safer when I had to climb my relatively narrow segmented ladder. Would definitely recommend for peace of mind and stability.

Took me a while to figure out how best to attach the unit. The diagram shows how to assemble the unit but nothing to show how best to attach to the ladder. Once attached, it provides a very stable top assembly to stabilise the ladder at the roof. Happy that it makes the ladder safer for me to use when cleaning gutters.

Good quality, but no instructions and didn’t fit my ladder The stabiliser is made of strong, heavy-duty steel and feels very solid. It adds good support, and the anti-slip rubber feet are a nice safety feature. However, no instructions or washers were included, which made installation frustrating. It also didn’t fit with my ladder. Good product overall, but it would be much better with proper instructions and clearer compatibility information.

I would give 4 1/2 stars with the following PROs, CONs, & a tip: PRO: This brace works very well, I feel much steadier while using this brace to go up on my roof. It assembled and attached easily and removed from my ladder easily after use by removing the two "U" bolts, the unit lifts off and stays assembled for storage until next use. The paint seems to be good quality. Using the brace allows me to avoid damaging my rain gutters. CON: A minor issue is it should have included lockwashers (not just flat washers) to keep the bolts from loosening up while using the brace. I also had to be careful with threading the nuts onto the bolts for the first time - a little better machining would make it much easier to thread and not cross-thread. TIP: Get some lockwashers to keep the brace bolts from loosening up and use a socket & ratchet to speed up assembly. Also, ladder storage is tougher if you keep the brace attached because you can't retract the extension ladder. This is an FYI and only matters if you have limited space like I do. (I didn't remove any stars for this since I knew this would happen). Overall I recommend it because of the much-improved safety it provides.
