"Their eating the guests" !
Why oh why bother to put films on Blu-ray when these companies have not tried to improve the picture from the dvd ? Not a bad movie really.. remember seeing this in the cinema in 1978 hot on the heels of Jaws, Grizzly & the upcoming Jaws 2... It was an ok movie back then & don't get me wrong still is. Bradford Dillman is trying to do his best Charlton Heston impression but doesn't quite get there ? There's an awful lot of background actors looking into cameras...& Crikey, what about the Dr. Swimming out to the boy on the upturned canoe...so much blood in the water I thought his legs & never regions had been bitten off but when they pull him aboard the makeshift raft he's only got about 3 bits on his upper torso ? And as for the kids race across the lake ? Well it appeared a lot of kids got eaten but doing a quick head count, it appears more got out of the water then originally got in ? Film was made on a tight budget as most Corman films are & it shows but it's quite entertaining if you've got nothing else to do for an hour or so ?

A horror film with plenty of bite
I have the remake of this which I thought was brilliant. I like to see the originals of remakes and I like old school horror films to. The remake followed this awesome film almost to the Letter. For it's age, the golden age of special effects before CG started to worm it's way in to movies and looking more fake than physical effects. The SFX in this film are primitive but very effective and the well presented HD picture doesn't spoil them buy showing them up.I like the story line too. It's not too cheesy which is of course a lot of what good old horror films are about, great late night cheesy viewing but for those of you who don't like the old school horror films to be really cheesy. I'd say this is for you and remember it is a 1970s film.Great fun

No crap CGI here
This is how you make a great low budget horror movie , thankfully before crap CGI that's used today and bad acting.

Great fun!
Thoroughly enjoyable horror/comedy from the 70's (I remember watching it in 1979). Not an Oscar-winner but who cares?
