I received my order well and have installed snaps as needed. This tool made the job very simple and I’m grateful for the high quality of this product. It’s a great value and I’d recommend without hesitation.

I like it so far. I have replaced the Velcro closures on the leg pockets of my hunting trousers and on a set of shorts. First time doing this and this setup was not hard to use. Finding the right tension on the vise grips takes a little fine tuning. It does not cut a perfect hole on the thicker sections, need fine scissors to remove the uncut sections. It come with two sets of dies. One of the #2 Dies seated really hard. Come to find out it is not supposed to seat hard. After using pliers and standard screws driver to get it off, I tried the other Dies and they all went on easy and there are magnets in the base to hold them in place. I will test the buttons I’ve done before I get snap happy and put snaps on everything. Would have been 5 stars, except for the faulty Die.

I picked up the MiniGUY Snap Kit to repair some snaps on my boat cover, but I found the experience a bit frustrating. The kit comes with a variety of snap components and tools, which is great in theory, but the instructions were nearly impossible to understand. They were poorly written and lacked clear diagrams, leaving me to guess how to use the tools properly. Additionally, the bags weren’t labeled, so I had to spend extra time figuring out which parts were which, making the installation process more tedious than it should have been. Once I got the hang of it, the snaps did work, and the quality of the components seems decent. However, the lack of clear guidance really held this kit back—I’d recommend it only if you’re already familiar with snap repairs and don’t mind some trial and error.

Works well and easy to use. Had to pinch the male snap a little for a tighter fit.

Overall, the kit works mostly as described. It's easy enough to punch and set the snaps, the whole things in a nice package, and it comes with plenty of snaps to get you through at least a handful of projects. The problem is... when the pliers clamp down to set the stud on the female half, they don't close the stud down flush enough, or the head pushes the stud out too far I'm not sure which, but then the snap doesn't ever really feel like it's properly secured when you try to snap the male side in. It latches and holds well enough for light-duty use, but I haven't tested it under a decent working load, like securing a flappy tie-down strap end; I'm skeptical as to whether it would hold, or just become the same flappy strap as before, but with a little metal bet on the end now. But I'm willing to accept that maybe I'm just using it wrong. If I find that to be the case, I'll update, but for now, 4/5 because I have to fix it a bit on the backend, or I guess 4/5 because it's not apparent how to use it with the included instructions, either way, 4/5 is the number.

Works exactly as advertised. Well made. Handy folding stand. Highly versatile tool for punching leather or similar materials.
