I would suggest to return it or notify the manufacturer and ask them to send a replacement.

Q: How os the quality of the frame it states that it is plastic?

It is very sturdy but not very heavy. Bought it as a gift and bride loved it!!!

Q: What size are the pictures that fit in the frames?

If I remember correctly they are 4x6. Usual size when developed.
