Happy hubs
Husband was super pleased with this as a gift. He loves everything 3 Kingdoms related and he had never heard of this game before. He said that he likes the art on the cards and is excited to give it a try.

Not for me, and not really sure what to make of this "game"
I've recently got into the habit of trying new games, and different types of games. For the longest time I was strictly a WWII hex and counter game guy, but over the past 2 years I've ventured into different time periods, and ventured into miniature based games like Nemesis, Star Wars Imperial Assault, Zone Wars, Stars of Akarios, and Alien(s). I did not have anything from this time period or part of the world so decided to give it a go. The game is nice looking. The cards are well made, there is a book which provides background on the characters which is nicely produced, and while the rule book looks nice, its not particularly helpful. The game is relatively simple, but it would have been nice to have an example play round included to get players started. And while the rules are simple, there is much that could have been explained better. And as far as gameplay goes, its a pretty boring affair. You play cards, you deal with the results, then on to the next player until mercifully somebody achieves victory and you can move on with your lives. And if you are going to play, at least 4 are required to make it a game, and its better with 5 to 8 people. Due to the random nature of the player character assignments and randomness of the cards you are dealt the game is highly replayable. I don't really believe its worth $40, but if this is your type of game you might see it differently. I do like games with card play, but this game is just not well enough defined to be engaging or interesting.
