After being so tired of holding my iPhone while watching movies/series in long plane or train journeys, I looked into a suitable holder, and having been satisfied with ESR before, I tried this holder which seemed to be the simplest and most effective design, as it's very compact once folded.The MagSafe is SO powerful, it's impossible to ever drop the iPhone even with the hardest turbulences. The hook mechanism is also super strong, and requires quite a lot of manual force to open, which is great because it's giving total reassurance that it won't slip or move from the support (which will often be a tray table). I've been able to use it with a few airlines with the table put away, and it worked well, so it could be used during takeoff and landing.It spins in all directions so you can orient your iPhone the way you want. I hope the hinges remain durable.

Has a very strong magnet and comes with a magnetic sticky ring for phones not supporting MagSafe! Recommend for the good price and also very stable!Pros: The magnetic holder is really good to hold your phone!Now there is no need to worry about losing your phone when the planes by EasyJet or RyanAir suddenly land!There is a magnetic ring provided for you to stick onto your phone and also an installation guide for iPhones and Androids!Cons:If you do not have MagSafe; you will need to put on the metal ring! Unfortunately, as the magnet on the holder is so strong it may unstick from your iPhone or Android and stay stuck on the holder - your phone comes off the the magnetic ring doesn't. This had me stuck for 20 minutes trying to get the ring off. I would personally recommend using a thin case with the ring inside the phone so they both stay together and apart when necessary!

ESR Travel Essential Airplane MagSafe Holder is for travellers who needs a stand in tight areas to hold their phone, the stand has a clamp on the bottom which expands to a maximum of 3cm and a strong Magsafe magnet for iPhones. Those who don't own one, ESR have provided a comprehensive kit to attach a self adhesive ring on your phone, with placement positioning mount included covering Samsung and Apple phones, the kit only really works without a case. There is two metal rings included (white and black).The stand is well made with most of the body is plastic, my main concern is the elbow joint between the Magsafe ring attached to the stand part, it seems like there is no where to tighten that up if needed. At the moment its new, so the joint is nice and tight, but eventually under the weight of the phone and that part loosing up, that may eventually make the whole stand redundant, I would have preferred if they included something that could tighten that elbow joint.Overall this is a very good travel stand and saves you carrying your phone in your hand for hours traveling on a aeroplane whilst consuming media content. Apart from the minor longevity issue that I mentioned earlier, this is a pretty good stand. Well packaged and a great gift for family and friends who travel about a lot. Recommended 4 Stars

Clamp is very hard to open and close but slips off the desk easily because of the material used as cushion to protect surfaces against damage.Very hard to rotate but that may not be a bad thing.

the button on the back means it will not lay flat on a table, includes a very comprehensive fitting kit for non magsafe phones

Does what it says it should do. Very pleased.
