A treat!
It was exactly what I had hoped for, a tasty, moist but dense fruit cake topped with marzipan and icing. It was a perfect size for my purpose

Delicious fruitcake
Best fruitcake ever tasted

Wonderful!
It was considerably better than I expected. Moist cake, full of sultanas, with a ENORMOUS layer of marzipan. I have had other British fruitcakes, but none were as nice, or as fresh, as this one. It is not a huge cake, but it is worth the price we paid considering the amount of marzipan and fruit. Good quality.

A fruit cake we couldn't eat
Newp, that is to say, nope. As a family who loves traditional fruit cake-- it's a cultural delicacy for some-- this Walker's fruit cake looked like an option. Really, even if the cake wouldn't do with a cup of tea, surely it could be rescued under individual lakes of brandy custard. But, no. The fruit cake is bitter and the marzipan icing tastes mostly of almond essence. I'm also blaming the whiskey (usually an enhancement) though a fistful or two of raisins ought to have offset the bitterness. It did not. Mind you, Walker's Mince Pies are delicious, as are their various short breads, so, all is not lost.

Delicious but need a large round fruit cake like we used to buy in Scotland
it is delicious with a dram, glass of sherry, cup of tea, or whatever is ones preference. I bought 2 and holding one for Hogmanay or Burns Night. All I wish is that Walkers would make a 12 inch Diameter rich fruit cake to which I can make my own Marzipan and Royal Icing. I would by it in October and then add sherry to make it even more traditional. The problem in the USA is that we just can not easily obtain ingredients for home made rich dark fruitcake. This Fruitcake tastes very similar to one to I used to buy in Marks and Spencer in Edinburgh.

A bit stale?
We found this cake dry and the icing hard. Not the Christmas cake I'm used and not what I expected from Walkers.

Just like back home!!
We Loved this!! Growing up in Kenya, special events like Weddings would have these rich fruit cakes that I have never been able to find here in the States. I was giving this one a try to see if it came close and it did Not disappoint! It was sweet, rich, and moist just like the cakes back home. I will definitely be ordering this again.

You always want another piece. Won’t last to the occasion you bought it for unless to don’t open the box.

This is the nicest rich fruit and marzipan cake on the market. It is plentiful in fruit and a lovely generous topping of marzipan and just a very thin layer of icing which is perfect . It cuts down beautifully . It is worth paying a bit more to get the excellent quality and the perfect texture.

A little pricey but good

Very nice indeed. I'd compare it to homemade for sure. The marzipan and icing is generous too which I like. It's expensive but this is not an everyday thing. In my case I thought I'd treat myself to it for my birthday lol - thought I'd have a bit of cake for myself and I do enjoy fruit cakes. This isn't too rich at all either. Which is how I prefer it. Plenty of fruit and it's got a decent moisture to it. Only slight criticism perhaps, is its a bit more crumbly than absolutely ideal, but that's a very minor thing. The product tastes really nice and that's what counts. So if you thinking of buying, go for it. I'd say the price is worth it for the quality you get. And for one person this should last several slices as you don't need loads of this anyway. It is like any fruit cake quite rich afterall.
