These smell amazing and the smell is very long lasting and lingers. The more smell you want, the more you use, but even for a strong and long lasting smell it really does not take a lot at all. Maybe a cap and a half for a very large heavily soiled load. I also like to sprinkle just a few into the fabric softener compartment as well and turn on the fabric softener cycle on my washer. Absolutely heavenly. A huge reason why I love this brand of scent beads is because they do not stain or discolor the laundry. I have had many shirts for myself and my kids completely ruined by other brands of scent beads and crystals especially purex brand and the arm and hammer, as well as a few others. I’ve really tried them all. But they leave these slightly dark, discolored splotches on our clothes and once they are there, they do not come out. Took me a very long time to figure out what was causing it. Thought my brand new washer was leaking some kind of oily residue on our clothing. But nope.
