Excellent Reading & Note taking device
Excellent tablet, writing experience is very good in my opinion. Reviews are correct, screen is a bit darker than a black and white e-ink display due to the colour layer but the front light does compensate for that! Battery life is good, especially standby!! Great for reading, writing, not great for video, but that's not what an e-ink device is for!! The Boox has the advantage of access to the Play Store.

Fastest e-ink device I've ever used.
I sent this back initially, but bought another since they fixed the bugs in OS 4.0.It's very good device, if you understand the limitations of e-ink, esp colour e-ink. There are lots of videos showing how fast BSR (BOOX Super Refresh) is, albeit at the expense of battery life. However, if you read a book, the tablet goes into low-power mode, and the battery lasts ages. At full load it draws 450-550mah, on low power it drops as low as 110mah, or even 28mah with the frontlight off. So it really depends upon the demands you make of the device. It can do anything within reason for an e-reader; annotate, export edited pages as a pdf, record your voice, open just about any word document, word process, draw (sort of) surf the internet, watch videos, emails, whatever. It's well made, no creaks, with a nice matte surface.

Disappointing for the Price – Poor Battery & Inconvenient Return Process
I had high hopes for the BOOX device, but unfortunately, it fell short in a number of areas.Firstly, the battery life is surprisingly poor for an e-ink reader. One of the main advantages of e-ink is meant to be long battery life and energy efficiency, especially since it reflects ambient light rather than relying heavily on a backlight. Yet, I found myself needing the backlight on unless I was in a particularly bright room—this completely defeats the purpose. Even worse, the backlight would randomly turn off on its own, leaving me fumbling through unintuitive swipe gestures just to bring it back. Often, I’d end up accidentally turning the page instead. It was frustrating and far too fiddly for something meant to be a simple reading experience. The screen also raised questions for me. It appears to have a glass layer with a matte coating on top, rather than being a true matte display from the outset. This layering felt unnecessary and added to the feeling that this wasn't quite the premium e-ink experience I was expecting.Performance-wise, boot-up time was not much faster than my very old iPad 3. Given the price of the BOOX, this was disappointing. Honestly, if I could still run modern reading apps on that iPad, I’d prefer to stick with it.And a word of caution: had I bought this directly from the manufacturer, I would have lost 15% of the value just to return it. Thankfully, I purchased through Amazon instead. But even then, the return process was a headache. A light item like this should be simple to return via post, but for some reason, I was required to stay home and wait for a collection. In contrast, when I needed to return a very heavy item after surgery (and couldn't lift it myself), I was told no home pickup was available—that had to go to the post office. The inconsistency here is frustrating, especially when the heavier item posed a genuine difficulty and the lighter one didn’t.In the end, I’m returning the BOOX and won’t be investing in one again. For the price, I’d be better off upgrading to a better iPad.

Boox Air4c vs Remarkable paper pro
Absolutely amazing, bought the remarkable paper pro, it was useless, poor quality materials, white backlight bleed from edge of frame. But the Boox air4c is on another level of quality and usability. Will never go back and its the perfect size at 10.3 inches

Screen is quite dark and item is very heavy
I was disappointed after all the review hype about this product. I found the screen was terribly dark (grey) and this made reading difficult as there was insufficient contrast between text and screen. The tablet itself was very well made, metalic edges makes it feel premium, but it is heavy. Could not be used in hand without fatigue - i think it is best used on a desk. Not bad for looking at PDFs with graphs, because of the colour e-ink, but still, the text was often too small. Smooth functioning of the device was noticeably better than the Go 10.3 with no glitchiness. Disappointingly though, because of all of the above factors, combined with the steep price, i had to return.

Too expensive
This is a very nice product. Is it worth £500? Not really.

Best product to fulfil my wishlist
Bought this product primarily to replace my 12 yo Sony E-reader. Chose this because I mainly read books from libraries, I wanted to be able to also borrow audio books and magazines, the other functions, note taking etc. I considered a bonus. An android tablet was the only device that would fulfil my wish list. I wanted e-ink.Having used the tablet just to read with front light off (to simulate similar to the Sony E-reader) the battery last just under 2 weeks compared to 4 for the Sony E-reader but I expected that. There are multiple settings that can enhance the reading experience depending on what is being read, where it's been obtained from and the physical setting you are in.The pen for note taking is very responsive, the keyboard typing less so. The pen attached reasonably well to the tablet, provided you position correctly which is slightly higher than you might initially expect. I also bought the cover which increased the weight. The pen still attached OK with the cover on.I am yet to explore and familiarize myself with all the other functions. All in all I'm very pleased with the product, it fulfils the main requirements for my purchase.
