Soft comfortable seat. Very sturdy.
This is a great bench. Very sturdy. The bench is soft to sit on, very comfortable. Storage bench could be a little deeper but still very adequate. Easy to assemble. Highly recommend.

Great Piano Bench
Great piano bench. Easy to put together. Very sturdy and comfortable. Lots of room in the seat to put piano books and sheet music.

A Good Replacement, No Issues So Far. Buy this One!
I bought this bench to replace one that came with my Kawai digital piano which did not adjust. I was worried, based on the price, that this bench would look cheesy, be poorly made, or be difficult to assemble. None of that concern was necessary. It was very easy to assemble even with the included wrench (that wrench isn’t comfortable to use being a simple stamped piece of metal, but you certainly don’t need power tools or even a “real” wrench/ratchet to put this bench together). Like most assemble-yourself furniture, I imagine I’ll have to tighten the bolts in a few months (there’s only four, they’re big, and they’re easy to get to). The pleather seat is MUCH more comfortable than my previous bench and actually not noticeably less comfortable than the artist bench I own from Steinway (which sells for nearly nine times the price). The pleather also looks really nice with even stitching and buttons. The matte finish of the vinyl top contrasts nicely with the high gloss finish of the legs and frame. 2 things are less than perfect: 1. The storage capacity under the seat is minimal as others have noted. It’s about 1 inch deep. However, I only use it for the owner’s manual and accessory cables that go to my digital so that’s really minor. 2. The knobs for adjusting the height of the bench look pretty cheap. They stick out pretty far- think King Charles’ ears- and the plastic they are made of is not aesthetically pleasing. Couldn’t they have been made of wood or metal like other parts of the bench? This is also a minor quibble (I suppose you could replace them if you wanted to) of an otherwise great bang-for-your-buck product. If you need an adjustable bench, this really should be the one you buy.

Good piano bench but not fine furniture
I suppose for the price you shouldn't expect a fine furniture product. The bench looks good and is sturdy, which is what really matters. The bench comes securely packed in in a flat pack with the legs inside the bench top. A pack of screws is stapled to the inside surface of the top, which has a nice cloth liner. The assembly uses metal brackets designed to pull the legs securely into each corner when you tighten the supplied nuts to pre-installed mounting screws on each leg. My only real complaint is that the legs do not fit snugly enough to close the small gaps where the legs fit to the frame, which immediately identifies the bench as less than fine furniture. A throw-away wrench is supplied to allow you to firmly attach each leg using a washer, lock-washer, and nut. The directions supplied are superfluous since the assembly is obvious. Some have complained their bench does not sit flat on the floor, but I think that's the fault of the installer. You first put the legs on without fully tightening the nuts, then sit it flat on the floor while you tighten the nuts down. There is enough play in the fittings so that as long as your floor is perfectly flat your bench will stay perfectly flat while you tighten the nuts. My 4-star rating is a 4.5 stars with a deduction for the fit not being as tight as it could have been.

Works Great!
So far, the bench works very well for my 8 year old. She has used it twice since we assembled it yesterday. The assembly was fairly easy, though someone with large hands might find working in such close quarters uncomfortable. My fingers kept bumping into the corners. My fingers are rather small. Its just a slight inconvenience. The bench is sturdy. All legs are the same length, and the bench is solid on flat ground. The storage compartment is rather small. The length holds two John Thompson Music Theory workbooks, laid top to bottom. The width just fits the workbooks, with maybe an inch of extra space. A half inch thick, three ring binder fits the depth with two thin books on top. We laid a liner along the bottom to keep the black dye from wearing unto the music materials. The lid closes smoothly. My 8 year old loves that it closes quietly. There is an air gap between the storage compartment and lid, which I appreciate. The bench did smell when unpacking it, but its starting to dissipate. I really liked the fact that the bench came packaged with just enough to keep it safe during delivery. The legs may need a bit of paper wrapping, as one was slightly scratched. However, as I assembled the bench I noticed it was very dirty/dusty. It took several wipes to clean it. Every time I wiped the storage compartment base the rag kept turning black. I think its just a dye problem. However, the legs and outside took three wipes each before the rag was not grayish. Once cleaned up the bench works great, it looks great.

Very happy with this bench! Comfortable, and the right height for me to use with my Yamaha P-85 digital piano, on it's L-85 Keyboard stand. Fairly easy to put 2gether by yourself, but 4 hands would have been easier. Came with great packaging. The seat and top were already put together, and the legs were inside the seat, and so was all of the hardware (bolts, washers, etc), and it came with its' own wrench to tighten up the bolts to attach the legs. Wouldn't say it is a duet bench for 2 adults at the same time, as it isn't quite long enough, but very stable for one adult. It had "plastic pins" on the bottom of the wooden legs, but I added felt, so it wouldn't scratch my hardwood floors. The flip top works great, and I could store almost all of my music books. Very happy!
