Strong Velcro
As an Occupational Therapist I often work with stroke patients. While we have an arm skateboard at the clinic it is quite bulky. I like this one because of the size. To me it allows for easier use. Movements seem to be smoother. It is lightweight. The Velcro is extra strong, almost too strong. I think that will help it to last for repeated use over time.Overall, I am happy with this arm skateboard. I do recommend to other OT’s.

Not bad, but not great due to faulty wheels for more flaccid arms.
Doesn't roll well for someone with weakness from a stroke. Severity makes a difference, if they are more flaccid they are going to struggle with this since the wheels don't roll well, cause resistance; the whole point of this is to reduce resistance in a gravity eliminating environment due to weakness from stroke.

Effective but not quite as pictured
The media could not be loaded. I suffered a shoulder injury in March and have been going to physical therapy for months attempting to fully rehabilitate the shoulder. One of the exercises they have me do at physical therapy is slide my arms up a wall above my head or across a table in an attempt to restore full range of motion to that shoulder. When I saw this product, I thought how perfect it would be to do that exercise at home without having to put my hand or arm directly on the wall, likely enabling me to move more smoothly since my skin won't stick to the wall.As far as functionality, this product allows me to do exactly what I expected in terms of that exercise and the board has the ability to move on the four wheels in any direction. The velcro tabs are strong and secure and there is enough strap to go comfortably around my arm. I wish there was a way to secure both arms onto the board in order to exercise them simultaneously, but that's not really possible with this product and I'm ok with that, it's just a nice-to-have, not a necessity. What I take issue with is that one of the images for the product reflects the straps secured under the wheels, so basically screwed into the board (see picture 6). However, my board didn't have the straps screwed in; they are loose and can be completely removed. The effect this has is that the straps can slide around on the board when moving my arm up and down, which can cause a strap to interfere with wheel movement and potentially even cause the board to loosen on my arm if the strap slides down towards my wrist. Somewhat of a safety issue in my opinion, so I only give this 4 stars.
